It's time to bench Kalil

Putting in a rookie on an 8-4 team sounds like a great way to be 8-5. We need to find a way to work with Kalil. If thats help in passing or running it more. Cam had a clean pocket more often than not yesterday. The penalties are killers though.

How to work with Kalil's lack of talent:

1) run the ball to the right side every time...

2) call a rollout to the right on every pass play...

Honest question outside of the Saints game I thought Kalil had been serviceable the few games prior to that?

I try to zero in and watch him for some snaps during games and he just constantly gets worked.  He struggles so bad when the guy has a bit of quickness.  He ends up just shoving them slightly off course or holding.  He is never standing his ground or really pushing anything.  I mean, to be fair, he has spurts where his form is good and he gets leverage but it's few and far between from my perspective at least.

Anyone who thinks Kalil is worse than Chandler or Bell is delusional. He had allowed 2 sacks in 9 weeks, which is  solid.. he had a bad game, and considering our receivers droped everything thrown to them, he could have turned into Orlando Pace and we still woulda lost

LINVILLE, you're the only one who caught that. He hasn't had a good year, but the last couple of games he was improving (I think the MNF game he had one of the top T ratings in the league), but against the Saints he was really sick, getting IV before the game. If they kept him in as we can all see he struggled, the coaches still thought he was the best option, we can't put it all on him. I personally think the whole line is struggling this year.

He's truly awful. Might as well give Moton a look. We need to know if the answer is on the roster because the answer definitely isn't Matt Kalil.

Two games out of first and a half game back of the five seed and you won't to throw a rookie in to "see what we've got".

So we should bench And cmc because they both suck?

Kalil should be benched, yes.

CMC should not be benched but he's definitely not who Gettleman would have drafted at 8. Cam has stated that JR had CMC at his house and they all knew CMC would be the pick. Pretty sure the decision to draft CMC came from above Dave's head.

Stuck with him this year.  Forget exactly how the contract is structured but definitely it is back loaded so we could walk away in a year or two if we can hit on a replacement.

Back- loaded? I thought we could cut bait and eat 9.6M after this year but we are actually stuck giving him 12M more for next year and still eat a 7.2M cap hit after 2019.

Once again. “A dark day in Panthers history”

I think "want" was the word you were looking for there, chief.

But yes, if Kalil's performance wasn't heavily impacted by the illness that Rivera referred to then yes, we should explore other options right now.

You don't usually but if it can potentially be a small step up then you have to try to see how your assets preform. He might get in settled in a preform decent, Kalil had been up and way down sometimes but I'm not knocking him just want the coaches to give a chance to the other guy. If he struggles we know what's what but we won't know unless we check and with him struggling so bad it would seem like last game could have been a chance to just see how he preformed.

Rivera said he was sick. Might be something to that. Kalil hasn't been Jordan Gross or even Michael Oher for us, but he looked completely abysmal yesterday. Hapless. If he was sick and struggling that badly, we should've gone with a backup st some point.

This is simple logic which is why I'm so upset and confused when J-Stew fumbled back to back for no reason on thinking kool he'll be on ice for this game CMC might get enough chances to bust one or two but nooooo they put his azz right back in a few plays later likewhwt gets you benched what I'm confused.
