Worried About Deangelo?

Carolina Crazy V2

Recommended Posts

It also hurts that we aren't playing the soft Ds we played last year.

this.

carolina is facing much more disciplined run defenses this season. sure they are stacking the box, but so were last season's defenses.

the difference being, less defenders are overpersuing. they are waiting for williams to come to them instead of chasing him. that's why he looks indecisive on a lot of his runs. it's tough to make someone miss when you are forced to make your move first.

The thing I noticed about Deangelo and Stewart is that neither one of them is hitting the hole with authority right now. Both of them seem to be dancing around and looking for the home run right from the get go instead of taking what is there until the D wears down.

The OL needs to step it up because they are not blocking nearly as well as they were last year. However, one thing that can make an OL look like poo is a RB that dances instead of just hitting the hole. Deangelo especially needs to stop trying to be so fancy, this drives an OL crazy because you have to make sure that your RB has not reversed field on you. He was doing this a lot at the begining of last year and once he started hitting the hole the holes started opening.

I am worried. Here's why. Until we start throwing up 300 yard passing games (which won't happen) and/or Jake starts playing like Brady (which also won't happen) teams are going to stack the box, double Smitty, and make Jake beat them. That means the run game is going to be tough sledding all year long.

It also hurts that we aren't playing the soft Ds we played last year.

Which means there is rarely any holes to go through. There was a hole when D.Will tried to hit it quick and they hit him hard, and the defensive player had a head injury

Why don't you shut the hell up!!! I am tired of reading your little bitch ass comments about DeAngelo. Every back has a game where the defense shuts him down. Frank Gore had 30 something yards against Arizona and a week later he went off for 200! Grren Bay held Adrian Peterson to 50 yards on on 20 something carries. The first 3 games was a product of playing behind and not getting enough carries you little fug. It isn't about tougher competion. Dallas didn't stop DeAngelo. Neither did Atlanta or Philadelphia. DeAngelo had 30 yards on the first drive against philadelphia and Jake started acting like a damn fool, and Philly said hell, we are going to run blitz the rest of the game!!! Thie thing that is pissing me off is that you DeAngelo haters know this, but it looks as though he is struggling so you have the opportunity to go and post negative things about DeAngelo, whici is what you are doing number28, you fugin prick. "We are 1-3. We don't have tiime to wait while he gets his act together." That was a comment I read from you yesterday that pissed me the fug off!!! How does someone go from being arguably one of the 4 best backs in the league to someone who needs to get his act together? Maybe if he can miss training camp and practice all week he would have more energy to do what Stewart is doing.

His aunt died from cancer and his mom battled against it.

Yep. I know and meant no disrespect at all but with everyone making all the ridiculous remarks about slow starting an dancing and blah blah blah I figured it was just as well to blame the shoes. I should have added <sarcasm> to the end.

Yea I lost my temper a little. Just got tired of seeing that guy(Number28) on every thread killing Deangelo as if he has played poorly all year. No back runs for a 100 yards every game. Deangelo Williams is supposedly playing tougher defenses this year, but the team that shut him down yesterday was one of the worst in the league. Competition has nothing to do with his performance this year. It is teams playing 8 and sometimes 9 men in the box because Jake Delhomme is an unmitigated disaster as a quarterback, and teams don't respect the passing game. He barely threw for 180 yards yesterday and the media there in Charlotte and some other places are saying he played a solid game. Crazy.... You see teams like Denver, Indianapolis, New Orleans, New York, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, I can go on and on. You see teams like that make plays consistently in the passing game. That is Carolina problem Number28 not Deangelo Williams. And lastly, he can never get into a rythym in a game. Outside of yesterday there are times when he would make a nice run on the first series of the game and come out of the game. The first series!!! I am almost certain that this will be his last year in Carolina, because I know he is frustrated with that and the lack of respect he gets from both the fans and the coaching staff. So Number28, you will get your wish...

Not worried. He had a bad game. Everyone on every team has these. plus I blame the damn gaudy ass shoes. Good lord did he go over a bit on the pink :)

See here:

His aunt died from cancer and his mom battled against it.

It's actually three aunts.

Shawn you need to grow up.

If they stack the box it makes it that much easier to throw against them. I don't see your point, unless your point has to do with Jake not being about to beat them in the passing game (which he can do).
