PFF: McCaffrey remains at 8 in the rookie rankings

Most impressive stat about McCaffrey that I found from them is that among all backs that were targeted at least 35 times , McCaffreys dropped only 1 of 60 catchable passes all season long. That is insane.

I wish McCaffrey was featured more in our passing game. I blame most of it on Cam and some of it on Shula. I seen too many times where we are in 3rd and managable , and Cam is just taking his time going through the options way down field and not even considering CMC until its either too late or hes the last read or bail out option. Need more plays where McCaffrey is the 1st or 2nd read, dude catches everything and is usually automatic for a first down in space.

He is insanely sure-handed.

I think we can beat saints with our 2 best offensive players. Keep the ball in cmc hands running and catching and give cam free rein to run at his discretion. I would avoid Stewart unless the game is already in hand.

and what would have happened if we didnt get mccaffrey? Sure Lattimore wouldve made our defense better, but assuming all our other picks remained the same? I'm guessing our offense wouldve been alot worse.

So the only offensive skill positons rookies ranked ahead of McCaffrey are Hunt (who has been performing much worse 2nd half of the season) , and Kamara (who I admit has been amazing)? Thats pretty damn good . McCaffrey hasn't been some transcendant talent like Kamara I guess, but he's been the key for our offense in most games whether he was the one making the plays or serving as the main element of distraction to allow the plays to happen . And he is still leading the team in yards from scrimmage, although I'm expecting Funchess to pass him if he keeps getting close to 100 yard receiving games.

Well I would assume that our picks would not have been the same.  The scenario I wanted at the time was to hope Dalvin Cook fell to our pick in the second (who knows how that would have gone as he may not have gotten hurt) and if he did not then target Joe Mixon (which I acknowledge Jerry would have never allowed).

In no way do I dislike CMC or am I unhappy with him, nor do I fault anybody for thinking he was the best option.  I just preferred Lattimore and at this point in time I stand by it.

what in the world have you seen this season that leads you to believe they will do that? McCaffrey averages 12 touches a game, thats only 3 touches per quarter. If anything they keep the ball in stews hands

Well Yur right but if they wanna win this big game they need to get it to cmc or they will lose

Our coaching staff does not always see the obvious, especially when it comes to declining veterans.

I have little doubt they'll still give a fair share to Stewart.

They've had a ton of busts since they started there. Never forget that even Professional Idiot Marty Hurney drafted Dan Morgan, Kris Jenkins, and Steve Smith in back-to-back-to-back picks in 2001.

Hurney was a good drafter though.

One thing is that cmc is a year younger than Kamara and one of youngest in nfl. Another year and cmc will be a bit heavier and stronger and will be great.

McCaffrey is the same age as Zeke was when he came in and Zeke started at 225lbs and is like half an inch taller than McCaffrey.

I want him to put on some weight too but who knows if it'll actually happen. I think it could be great for him tho, he seems to have the work ethic and I've seen plays like the one Vs Patriots where he caught a pass and just bulldozed through a dude for 1st down. If he was about 215 instead of his current 205, he'd be able to bounce off defenders alot easier and be a more physical and efficient running back instead of being taken down so easily at the LoS.
