Including punt and kick return yardage is a bit much.

Like I'm a homer at times, but let's not be too desperate here.

Just go with his total yfs then. I was just combining all yardage I could find on the stats page.

I'm def not a homer in terms of ignoring hes flaws. Hes had a very bad lack of 20+ yards plays for a top 10 RB and his ypc was ass for the first half of the season. He still does unnessary juking and stuttering in the open field when he has the speed to blaze past defenders for alot more yards. Part of the reason why hes doing alot better running lately is hes not getting so cute behind the LoS with hesitation moves and hes not doing it as much elsewhere compared to earlier in the season.

He hasn't produced many of the splash plays that I expected from him, but the guy is producing well for a rookie.

I have no idea why we haven't reduced Stew's role drastically. CMC and CAP should be seeing the majority of the action at RB IMO. Stew has had one good game all season long and that against a team that has utterly quit.

Stews role is to beat up the defense.  This can be helpful later in the game when all the big linemen are tired.  Not many teams have a luxury of a rotation like ours.  By the fourth quarter they are battered, bruised, and they may not have the energy to stop the run or rush the passer if necessary.

I don't really want to see CMC in there running up the middle more than 3-4 times a game.  Gotta keep them honest and set up the play-action.  But I'd rather see more CAP.  I'd like to see him get in every third series.

I bring this up every year now....but the same question remains.  On any given random play in a game....who decides what positional player at WR/ RB etc goes into a play.   Shula obviously doesn’t do that.  Neither does Ron.

So I keep coming back to Jim Skipper.  His job literally is to evaluate the RBs.  To inform the coaches of who has the juice.  His depth chart isn’t?   DWill and Stew have always been his dudes.

is our continued reliance on old RBs over clearly better younger RBs.....an issue that starts with Jim Skipper.

I think we need a new RB coach.

Same pattern repeats.  Pre-dates Ron.  Skipper is the constant.

This is what happens when you run a business like a social circle, and goes a long way in explaining why this franchise has never had back-to-back winning seasons.

there are pros and cons to running your team like a "family" i prefer winning to everybody feeling all warm and fuzzy inside

I'd like to basically see Stew and CAP swap roles. The few chances CAP has gotten he's looked good. Stew just has no burst left in him.

And Artis Payne has basically double the yards per carry of either McCaffrey or Stewart , with CAP having  6 ypc instead of 3 ypc like the other two. Coaches consistently ignore the hot hand and go with the vets with seniority.

I'm thinking McCaffrey is getting stronger? I'm seeing him actually drag dudes and power through poo on occasion now. He needs to stop these unnessary jukes and cutbacks in the open field, just sprint strait ahead your the damn grandson of an olympic track medalist just run strait and get the TD compadre

This is what I truly believe Point blank period.

i really wonder if the coaches and jr/hurney really would cut Stew after this season even if he ended up with a 2.0 carry average.  I'm curious how long they're going to cling to him and how long its going to take to let either CMC or Artis Payne burst onto the scene.
