Olsen's foot

A couple weeks ago before the by,  GO didn't really sound very confident about the recovery of his break even though he was slated for return.  Yesterday he left the game early apparently due to "soreness".   Something that only he has the real measure of.   My point is some guys are willing to jeopardize their future health by coming back from injuries on the team doctors and trainers schedule, and some are not.  He had previously gone years without any sort of major injuries.  Now this foot break,  which if not healed properly could leave him a virtual cripple for the rest of his life.  ( yes this sort of thing can come back to haunt you as you age -  ) Greg being a smart man  apparently has plans for a life after football.  I wouldn't be expecting the same old care free lay it out there Olsen to be back this season, or maybe in future seasons either.

Hopefully his foot is similar to Julian Edlemen’s experience.  Think Rappaort commented on it but when Edlemen returned from that injury he thought he re-broke it.  But it was just scar tissue being broken up.   Odds are with Olsen, his foot is simply going to bother him for a minimum the rest of this season.  He isn’t going to return this year and be fine.  Some players with that injury have dealt with the lingering impacts for a year or more (Sammy).

Hopefully Olsen didn’t really re-injure himself and the foot is just doing what they do.  Might just mean limited reps to finish with the emphasis on big passing downs with him toughing it out.

This was my first thought.  Breaking up scar tissue in his first game action.

I like that they let him test it and see where he’s at.

The first sign of discomfort and the sat him.  Good job by the staff staying on top of it.  They know how important he is.

Im positive it’s just a precaution and he’ll be more involved next week.

Glad the X-Ray is negative. We all knew he was being limited yesterday anyway. When he came out of the game yesterday because of a "foot injury" I figured it was precautionary since he was still hanging around on the sidelines. Ron confirmed as much in the post game presser. Gut feeling is that he'll be active this weekend, but the staff should continue to ease him back in.

We're going to be okay and he is going to be okay. He's coming back from a serious injury and there's going to be some pain as he works back into playing shape. No reason to push and the team wisely sat him at the first signs of trouble. We're going to need him down the stretch, so we need to take our time and work him back slowly.
