Cool! 

I am glad that there was an earnest competition going on, and not just a show before the rubber stamping of an aged vet,  as seemingly has been the case in too many instances of old school coaching regimes.  

This is one I believe they got right.  You can't always take the old guy---or the new young gun---for granted. When opportunity knocks,  sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and do what's best for the long term.
