PFF: Carolina's Run Game Struggled For Most Of The Season Because Shula Literally Crapped The Bed On How To Use CMC & Stewart

For someone who always harps on garbage time stats. That run is the epitome of garbage time. The Phins had given up long before that run.

I like Cap as well as anyone. And am rooting for him to be more involved as the season goes. Especially, because with our WR corp. is in a bit of a mess. We should be running the ball a bit more.

IMO, if we can continue to run the ball well. Cap will be getting a larger share of the carries.

Like I said above CAP has done more with his carries than both Stewart and Mccaffrey, even in meaningful games . I can promise you one thing neither Mccaffrey nor Stewart make that run In that video.

Football isn't so simple where the right scheme will fix all. We didn't do much different last week than we have all season. Same plays, just not as much in A gap as we have tried the first half of the season. I formation, shotgun, singleback. Doesn't matter if the blocking isn't there. The OL plays well, RBs look good. It's that simple. No 1,000 yard back got that yardage with a bad OL.

We didn't run more powers or counters. We executed them and ran a few less inside zone or iso plays. Literally all the difference.

I don't know how much to take from last week given that the Dolphins played like a symphony of ass.

I hate to pile on, because the last 3 responses pretty much sum it up.  But...cuz you quoted me, I feel a responsibility to respond.

DUDE? For someone who always uses the phrase "Garbage time stats" to downplay a player. Your use of the same for CAP is enlightening.

You love you some Cap. Just admit it.

Barry Sanders would like to say hello...

(Trust me, I watched that continuous garbage they called an OL his entire career. Swiss cheese had less holes in it for defenders to rush into. Btw, not debating anything but that there have not been any 1,000 yard backs with bad OLs before.)

Trying to state your opinion as fact, does not change the facts. That run against the Phins was against a team that had quit. It happens, it is what we try to do to teams. Beat them up, and send them packing.

It was "Garbage time" against a "Garbage Defense". Don't make it out to be more than it was.

And I love me some Cap. So I hate that you make me have to defend the play, not the player.

Love me some CAP? LOL I've actually been critical of him. I'm just stating what the film shows he's quicker than Stewart and breaks more tackles than Mccaffrey.

Admit it Goob. There is not one player you haven't scouted, seen, or evaluated. You have an opinion on every player ever mentioned. You either have no life, or are exaggerating your knowledge.

I would bet that as a Big Ten fan, I have seen more of Funch, and Samuel than you have. Yet you some how have a wealth of knowledge that seems to elude me.

But by all means, be you. Because it is entertaining as all get out to watch folks try and be "That guy" that just knows everything. Cuz truth be told. That guy is my brother in law.

Lol why are you even bringing up college? Again trying to change the topic to fit your dumb agenda

Like I said in my first post show me a run by a Carolina RB better than that this season.

(Hint) you can’t cause no one outside of CAP has the ability to pull out that run.

Why did they need to draft a rb when they already cap? Maybe they should trade cmc and cut stew do cap will be the starter?

Cap has always produced..saying that does not mean anything bc u are referring to Shula, Ron, Gettlemen the same men that used tolbert and Ed dickson as fullbacks when clearly they were not effective.CAP is a good player they just will not use him he probably would start or be an interchangeable back someonewhere else instead of riding the bench.

    • I didn't say much bigger. Watch the highlights I linked. Bryce doesn't have the arm strength and/or talent to make the vast majority of the throws Mac made in that video.
    • Tetairoa McMillan.   The last 28 1st overall picks were either a QB, DE, or OT. Seeing as I don't think we'd take an OT in the 1st and give up on Ickey as an LT yet and there doesn't seem to be a clear overall #1 type of QB or DE pick this year, it very well could be a non conventional #1 overall this year, at least in regards from the last almost 3 decades of drafts. If we didn't have Horn, I'd be more open to Hunter as a CB at #1, but we have him so another CB wouldn't be how I'd use a #1 pick.  And as much as I love Legette, if we have SB contending aspirations, I don't think Legette is a #1 on a team like that, but he damn sure is an elite #2 on a team like that.  He's more of the Smith/Higgins/Waddle to Brown/Chase/Hill (in terms of role/impact, not style of play of course). T-Mac is going to be the top ranked WR on every team's board in the end.  He is going to be a true outside #1 WR who is viewed as a consensus Top 5 WR in the game by his second contract in the same way guys like Jefferson and Chase have done.  His height combined with his speed, athleticism, and hands are near impossible to find all in one player, there is a reason his generally used comp is Mike Evans (although as he's not as thick, I personally see him more as an AJ Green). Yes, as an Arizona alum I've admitted to having bias towards the player to begin with.  But he's also someone very widely being put into the Top 5 in mock drafts lately and most of them have him as the first non QB offensive player being taken, so it's not really THAT much of a homer pick on my part anyways. If a QB or DE truly separate themselves as being a can't miss prospect come draft day, I'm open to that discussion, but until then, or if it doesn't happen, T-Mac is my pick 100 times out of 100.
