Saints had Ill gotten a free win because of Washington getting a false penalty thrown on them and no that call was not right either. The 2009 SB win was a sympathy win for Saints to.

This,.. the Saints should never have been in that Super Bowl.

There were several blatant no calls on roughing the passer, especially the last one when they went high low on Favre,..

helmet to helmet high and dove at the knees low,.. get the call and the game was over.

that Super Bowl was for Favre and Peyton.

Terrible call, and honestly not the only call the refs missed that game.

However, today showed the Saints aren't as flawless as many posted. Defense is still vunerable (Von Bell looked especially bad) and the run game, save those last few drives, isn't the juggernaut it was made out to be. I'm still worried about Drew Brees vs our zone but a lot less worried overall about going to the dome.

The run game only slowed down when they tried to run kamara up the gut from what i noticed, and when they stopped feeding ingram. The moment they went back to ingram they started barelling down the field again. He averaged like 12 yards a carry for the game I kid you not.

It did end the game, they lost yardage enough to take them out of FG range, had a 10 second run off and the clock was turned into a running clock. They got 1 more play out of FG range. It 100% ended the game. If the right call had been made, the Redskins are still in the FG range with 28 seconds left on the clock, which happens after an incomplete pass.

Horrible call and it 100% ended the game. Redskins had time enough to try a couple more passes, even in the middle with time to spike the ball and kick a shorter FG. Redskins fuged up even letting the Saints back in the game such as not just doing a QB sneak and laying down on defense, but the refs took away a FG opportunity for the Redskins to win.

Still amazed me that the refs didn't at least huddle and actually talk about it instead of just listening to Payton and throwing a late flag.

I didn't think it was intentional grounding watching it live. As has been said, no pressure. I was also very surprised that they didn't take the time for it to be reviewed from NY especially since it was such a huge penalty (yards plus loss of down plus 10 seconds). Payton must have a slush find to pay refs because this type of sh*t has been happening for them for years.

Make it worse, they started the clock BEFORE the skins snapped the ball on the next play. Seriously, how many times have we seen the aints get away with wins off blatant bad officiating in the dome?

After a dead ball penalty and the 10 sec run off the clock runs on the officials signal.

My goodness. The way yall post here, it's almost as if the refs didn't miss a blatant PI on Michael Thomas a couple drives before that would have put the Saints inside the red zone. Or a blatant facemask, so much so that it spun Lewis all the way around on a PR.

I know yall wine a lot about the refs, it's kind of your thing, but bad calls happen all the time (most of you still try to say Kuechly didn't interfere with Gronk). You keep playing. FFS they got the ball first in OT. All I hear are excuses.

PI is a judgement call. Missed thing happen every game, this was flat out something is basically never called. Everyone knows the Saints get calls in the Dome. You really gonna sit there and tell me Zach Miller's TD catch wasn't a TD? Yall should have lost to the Skins and the Bears, and you know it.

I'm a big proponent of challengable and reviewable penalties. Penalties can alter the game's outcome - this is not up for debate, so it is absolutely necessary to ensure that the calls are correct and a "bad" call should not cost a team a win.

Its things like this, I think even more so than the whole anthem deal, that cost the NFL the fan's confidence. Nobody wants to watch their team lose, but it's even worse if the loss can be attributed to referee's error.

    • I didn't say much bigger. Watch the highlights I linked. Bryce doesn't have the arm strength and/or talent to make the vast majority of the throws Mac made in that video.
    • Tetairoa McMillan.   The last 28 1st overall picks were either a QB, DE, or OT. Seeing as I don't think we'd take an OT in the 1st and give up on Ickey as an LT yet and there doesn't seem to be a clear overall #1 type of QB or DE pick this year, it very well could be a non conventional #1 overall this year, at least in regards from the last almost 3 decades of drafts. If we didn't have Horn, I'd be more open to Hunter as a CB at #1, but we have him so another CB wouldn't be how I'd use a #1 pick.  And as much as I love Legette, if we have SB contending aspirations, I don't think Legette is a #1 on a team like that, but he damn sure is an elite #2 on a team like that.  He's more of the Smith/Higgins/Waddle to Brown/Chase/Hill (in terms of role/impact, not style of play of course). T-Mac is going to be the top ranked WR on every team's board in the end.  He is going to be a true outside #1 WR who is viewed as a consensus Top 5 WR in the game by his second contract in the same way guys like Jefferson and Chase have done.  His height combined with his speed, athleticism, and hands are near impossible to find all in one player, there is a reason his generally used comp is Mike Evans (although as he's not as thick, I personally see him more as an AJ Green). Yes, as an Arizona alum I've admitted to having bias towards the player to begin with.  But he's also someone very widely being put into the Top 5 in mock drafts lately and most of them have him as the first non QB offensive player being taken, so it's not really THAT much of a homer pick on my part anyways. If a QB or DE truly separate themselves as being a can't miss prospect come draft day, I'm open to that discussion, but until then, or if it doesn't happen, T-Mac is my pick 100 times out of 100.
