Something Is Up With Dwight...

I mentioned earlier in the season that I noticed Dwight kept ignoring Kemba when he grabbed a board instead of starting the break.  Often times he would dribble it up court while Kemba called for the outlet.  I sensed that there was some kind of alpha-beef Dwight was trying to initiate.

Then, more recently, I've just felt Dwight has checked out mentally.  Some games, it just seemed like he would get frustrated early and instead of fighting through it, he chose the easy way out and would try to foul out...  he was racking up 3 AVOIDABLE fouls in a qtr, but it looked like he was purposely seeking them out and then would almodt gloat once they were called...  like he was playing the heel in a wrestling match.

Now, tonight against the Bulls, I had the game on but wasnt paying super close attention...  until about the 2:30 mark in the 2nd qtr.  We had a lead and then lost it right before that mark.  Dwight grabbed a board, then Kemba turned and called for the ball, but instead, Dwight ignored him like he wasnt there and dribbled it up past halfcourt, when suddenly Clifford abruptly calls for a timeout.  Almost like he was doing it to spite Dwight.  They showed the bench and Clifford pulled his chair up and all the guys on the floor were sitting on the bench, as they were ready to hear Clifford's strategy for the remainder of the qtr.  When suddenly, demonstratively, Dwight gets up and walks off.  MKG, Kemba, and Clifford all looked at him surprised.  MKG continued to look in Dwight's direction throughout the rest of the timeout, almost like he was gesturing him to come back.  Clifford finished going over things with the players, then when the timeout is over, Dwight is left sitting on the bench and hasn't put his warmups on,  which suggests it wasnt planned.  Then they went to Stephanie Ready for an unrelated sideline report, and in the background, you could see Clifford and Dwight arguing...  Clifford went to walk off several times, and then when Dwight said something else, Clifford walked back again and went back at him.

Kemba has also seemed pissed lately in interviews...  reminds me a lot of his demeanor when Lance was pissing him off.

Just something to keep an eye on...

Howard is a very weird dude.  I figured his antics would eventually show up and here they are again.  He has been doing this for years now.. I would suggest you dont pay too much attention to his idiotic displays because it will drive u insane.  He is a fuggin weirdo.

He got irritated in the 1st half when nobody gave it to him on the block so he could throw up a half assed hookshot so instead the next time he touched the ball he shot a jumper from about 2 feet inside the 2 point line

He'll be traded before the all-star break

Can we trade Clifford and Frank with him?

Oh no, I'm well aware of his antics...  it's why I haven't been a fan of his until we traded for him.  I didnt even want us to pursue him as a FA last season when it was rumored that we were interested.   But, once we traded for him, I hoped for the best, and i figured he would want to change his past behaviors and habits considering his hometown team just traded him for nothing and his former teammates reportedly celebrated it because he was so disliked.  I just dont think his mind or his heart is in it anymore.

Selfish Dwight is back.

When he's not receiving post touches he checks out elsewhere as well. He doesn't rebound and he doesn't play defense.

The simple solution would be to give him post touches, but since his post game is so poor, we'd be damning ourself to NBA purgatory if we actually ran plays for him. He makes DeAndre Jordan look like Shaq.

There's not a doubt in my mind that he could have blocked Dunn's shot if he was engaged defensively and rotated on time; but he had already checked out, the guy is a mental midget. If he gets his way, he stays engaged but more than likely it's going to be to the detriment of the team. If he's asked to do what's best for the team then pouts like a child.

Yup, and look at Kemba's reaction...  he is tired of it.

    • Fans are fed up with this organization's endless string of failures. And, while Morgan's less than a year into his current position, everything he's done is barreling down the same path shat out by his predecessor. If we're just pointing out this alarming lack of discrepancy between the performances of two GMs, it's really not hating. He's just proving to not be a good hire. And, hey, it's alright, because whoever Tepper hires next will, at best, only suck a little bit less. I don't mind people who are optimistic and hope Morgan turns out to be better than he's been thus far. That'd be great. None of us are rooting for him to fail. However, the embarrassing pattern of decisions persists. And it's not a good look.
    • You have to view everything that was done in 2024 through the ‘eliminate excuses for Bryce Young’ lens IMO. It only makes sense that way.     If you allow for that, you will see that Diontae fulfilled his purpose.
    • The Panthers' beat writer called the Johnson trade return "a warm bottle of RC Cola." If you're quick to discount every bit of news that disagrees with your view, maybe your view is the problem. Morgan deals himself a bad hand and he deserves every bit of criticism for it. Fitterer was the worst GM ever, but Morgan is a very similar brand of awful. Certainly when it comes to trades since 2021, Morgan's body of work makes him at best, only one of the worst negotiators in the history of North American professional sports. That's simply pointing out the numerous shortcomings he's put on display. If I point at a guy who shot someone and say "he murdered a guy," I'm not hating on him -- I'm pointing out what he did. If Morgan wants to not be labeled an incompetent clown who makes 31 other franchises better, simply stop being an incompetent clown who makes 31 other franchises better. Or, wait until Tepper makes him the fall guy after Evero.
