Ranking the Divisions

1) NFC South

Combined records: 22-15 overall; 18-11 outside of division. Combined point differential: plus-119.

The Saints just rolled to their seventh straight win. The Panthers are up and down but join New Orleans as one of the two credible Super Bowl contenders in this division. The Falconshaven't played great, but they're a threat to flip the switch down the stretch. The offenses of New Orleans (second), Carolina (16th), Atlanta (eighth) and Tampa (14th) are all in the top 16; on defense, everyone but Tampa is ranked in the top eight. (The Panthers are first, the Falcons are seventh and the Saints are eighth, while the Bucs are 27th.) Plus, with Drew Brees, Cam Newton and Matt Ryan, this group is loaded with quarterback talent, Jameis Winston's shoulder injury aside.

Saints are getting a bunch of credit for beating up bad teams but ATL will have there claws out down the stretch and make winning the south hard. While the bucs will be eating w shaped crab legs as a substitute for the real thing.

The NFC South has been one of the most competitive divisions since it came into being. We're kind of in our Golden Age right now with top quality QBs across the board and some of the most dynamic offenses in the league. Win or not, we've sent a team to the Superb Owl for the last two seasons and have threatened almost each year.

Defensively the NFCS is like a forge to iron and carbon -- it makes steel as each team has to play against each other's offense, not mention practice against their own. There has been some coaching turnover but Payton and Rivera have been around for a while, adding stability to the division. 

There's a lot of talent for such little attention we receive.

considering we were one of those bad teams, they deserve the credit.

I think we were one of those bad teams, but have turned the corner.  For many reasons we are a much better team than we were when we first played. The next game we will be more competitive.

I agree with this 100%...If Atlanta's offense builds off of last week, they really scare me down the stretch.  They have 5 division games left, and basically control their own destiny.  I hope they beat the Saints of course...but we might not know for sure how things play out until that week 17 game between the Panthers and Atlanta.

Is this also to say that Buffalo has regressed as we barely got by them at home and Saints smoked them on the road?

I think the lack of practice time from cam really hurt this team at the beginning of the year.  I don't think Buffalo was ever that good

How have the Jets, Dolphins, and Bills been so bad for Brady’s entire career? Maybe if Sanchez wasn’t ass the Jets may have beat them once or twice in the playoffs. Other than that they have all been ass for over 15 years.

Imagine if we got lucky and we had Cam when the rest of our division decided to go full Browns. Instead we have the only division where people would argue every team has a top 10 qb.
