Justice League

Saw it yesterday.  Had modest expectations after seeing the reviews saying it was just ok.  However, we all loved it.  As with DC in general, it's darker than Marvel, and you have to accept the silly plot devises that you find in every superhero movie.  But it was very enjoyable.  I'm kind if eh about Affleck's Batman.  They probably need someone with a little more natural charisma to draw your interest than Affleck has.  But other than him, I really liked the other heroes.

Wonder Woman is the same WW we've all come to know and love.  Could not have been casted any better.  Aquaman was awesome. Jason Mamoa is perfect in the role.  Snarky and fun, while still being a badass.  I was a bit worried about Cyborg going in, but while he's not one of my favorite characters, he was fine and didn't do anything to take away from the movie.  I also liked The Flash, but think he was a bit over the top in trying to be the comic relief.  I hope they calm him down a bit in future movies.

The villain was ok, but I felt the movie was more about getting the heroes together than him.  To me, he felt like a plot devise rather than a focal point in the movie.  I wouldn't put this up there with WW, but it's at least in the same game as that movie.  Overall, it was still a very good and enjoyable movie.

Oh, stay to the end, there are a couple of post credit scenes...the last of which is very important to future movies.

Please don't play with my feelings like that. Please be true. Please be true.

Young Justice: Outsiders[2] is the title of the upcoming third season of Young Justice, preceded by Young Justice: Invasion, and it will be comprised of 26 episodes.[1] Young Justice: Outsiders was announced on November 7, 2016[3]after years of online fan activism for the series to be renewed.

Production on the series commenced in mid-November 2016[4] and voice work purportedly began around April 2017.[5] Young Justice: Outsiders is expected to debut in 2018 on an upcoming "DC-Branded Digital Service".[2]

It's sad that DC's animated films and shows are so damn good but they just can't execute live action.

Warner Brothers is toxic poison. they desperately need to wrestle control of their own IPs and make DC Studios movies. Marvel movies sucked and bombed too before they managed to do that.

Saw it yesterday and loved it. Feel like JL is a movie for the girls more than pre-puberty boys; the true heroes are the women. It's an origin story for the team Justice League which had the pace a tad slower but it didn't over explain anyone's origins (on Flash: So, you were struck by lightning). It was assumed that you had seen the previous films Wonder Woman and SM v BM and flowed from there. When I was a kid (sooooooo very long ago lol) DC was king. Super heroes who didn't carry their inner problems with them and actually solved them as us kids would expect adults to do. DC JL treats villains differently from Marvel, they are not the focus or center of the story, the team is. There are a couple of heroes missing from the team and I hope they show up in future films as they did in the comics. This film is so jam packed with quips and references and easter eggs I want to see it a few more times but can't afford the theater price again so I'll have to wait for the blu-ray release. I highly recommend JL to anyone wanting to see an uplifting, jovial-but-serious-when-needed movie for the holidays. Oh, and there's plenty of eye candy for the ladies too.

So DCU has some serious flaws, but it genuinely seems like they are finally starting to get their feet under them and I'm so, so glad Snyder is done with this franchise.

One of DCU's biggest mistakes (besides handing the keys to their ferrari to a drunk driver in Snyder) was not giving each of these heroes their proper intro movie. Maybe, maybe we don't need a cyborg movie. But a Batman movie set 10 years earlier. A flash origin story, and an Aquaman movie would have really helped build the hype for Justice League.

Nonetheless, the past is the past. This movie is a perfect example of rotten tomatoes being a bad indicator of how good a movie is. This is such a vast improvement over B vs. S. It didn't take itself too seriously, while still maintaining a "darker" tone than the MCU, the additions of Aquaman and the Flash really helped with that.

DC is sitting on a gold mine of great characters, they just need proper direction on how to utilize them. Moving forward I have faith that we will see better and better movies from this franchise.
