Roger Goodell wants a 40% raise

You think the owners are worried about that amount?  They regularly eat that by cutting low level players.

As to him asking for it, I don't have any issue...I just don't think he gets it.

The NFL is so successful you could pick a name out of a hat and have that person run it without missing a beat. If Goodell thinks he is worth $50 million a year cut him loose  and let him try to get it in any other organization.

Honestly, getting on par with other power house CEO’s is fair. but not more and not with these horrible game turn outs and ratings this year. Jim and Pat went deep into it on the radio last night, the ratings of the NFL have tanked over the past two years.

Goodell is literally the perfect commissioner for the league. There could not be a better one. Still I don't see how he could possibly justify that high of a salary. Tons of other slightly worse but still capable candidates would take much less if given the opportunity.

If he can get it, good for him. You're never going to get a $50 million salary unless you ask for a $50 million salary.

Those players make to much money to play a game. All they do is put there body's and long term health on the line. The commissioner should make 50 mil and get a jet to watch over the game, right?

JK, he's not even that good at his job. You would think getting booed all the time at drafts and at games he would be a little happier just to still be commissioner and take a normal pay raise.
