Kalil was not a great signing, but could turn out to be an average signing.

Kalil's contract isn't nearly as bad as many in the media and on this board proclaim.

Our entire offense was a mess for the 1st half of the season, and Kalil was coming to a new system/team.

O-Line takes time to "gel" (hate that word).  And with limited practice, it's harder today than ever.

 

All that said, I'm not sure that Matt will ever turn out to be good/great again...but right now...we just need average, and health.  We get that, and we will be OK.

I can't help but wonder how the center situation will look like at heading into next season.  Ryan has hardly played this year and missed a significant portion of last season. With the running and pass blocking improving as the season progresses, do you guys think there's anyway we bring Ryan back next year under his current contract assuming he doesn't retire? It seems you have to cut him or get him to renegotiate the deal.

If we can keep all these guys together next year we will have the the best OL in football. Any OL works better with chemistry 

 

Larson will be a force next year with an year of experience under his belt and an off-season as a starter. Let R.Kalil retire and pump that money into Norwell.

His key is going to be consistency. We’ve seen it now. We’ve seen him get more comfortable with and progress in this offense and with last night’s performance, we know he can deliver the goods. 

But can he do it week in and week out? That’s going to be the benchmark. We don’t need streaky LT play, but he’s trending up and I hope he says on this path.
