The delusional ones maybe.

If I wanted to lie to myself about something’s quality I’d compliment my dota ability.

not going to lie I had to google dota. haha. If i wanted to lie to myself Id convince myself I can be with ScarJo, still doesn't stop me from enjoying photos of her.

CMC is not nearly as flashy as many here thought...he is exactly what this team needed though.

An outlet for Cam, a way to change the tired way we were playing, and someone who could consistently get 1st downs when behind in the down and distance.

I'm not a fan of drafting RB's in the top half of the 1st...and certainly not a runner who is smaller than league average...but that's not why I wanted him here in the first place, as I don't see him as a RB, but more of a Swiss Army knife that can help bail Cam out.

At the end of the day, I wanted Jamal Adams here the most...but I don't think that we would have a single win more if he was a Panther, but I can make the case that we would have lost a game or two if we didn't have CMC.

Honestly, I don't really care if we get 9 years out of him like you would want from a top 10 player....I want a Super Bowl before Cam rides into the sunset...and I believe that CMC can help Cam get one.

They force feed him the damn ball.  And don't give me 770 all purpose yards, he's been average at best so far.  He's not broken one damn run for a TD like he did in College.  What I would like to see?  I don't know.  More than 3 yards per carry, ummm, and more than 7.6 ypc.

Isn't that what running backs do? Get force fed the ball?  You all are using him like Tevin Coleman or Danny woodhead and you dont hear people saying "HEY THEY SUCK, THEY ARE FORCE FEEDING HIM THE BALL!"

How many long TD runs has stew broke?

How many long TD runs has anyone on carolina broke?

I am not even a carolina fan, and I recognize how good this kid has been for you guys.  Like he said in the pre game, he is a football player and you are lucky to have him be as humble as he is. Being drafted #7 overall, if he was a self promoter like Cam, you would have issues.

like do you think CMC is the only player out there that does stuff when his number isn't called? Every single other player in the Panthers offense blocks, is part of an offensive scheme, is used to create misdirection, etc.

What you're saying he's doing is literally what every nfl player is expected to do.

Oh he's blocking? He's running his routes?  The amount of poo he gets credit for is indicative of how underwhelming his play has been overall. Next you're going to start talking about how great he is in the film room.

He doesn't draw any extra attention from NFL defenses. This hasn't been true since like week 3. Zod of all people has demonstrated it. Stop saying it. It's dumb.

You clearly have zero idea what you are talking about. You watched the game live, and never went back and looked at any of the big plays.

1. Dickson TD: CMC pulls two defenders on flat route. One completely vacates his zone opening up the easy throw to Dickson. https://giphy.com/gifs/l2QDRVo4wA3LHVUqc

2. Funchess TD #1: Cam audibles to a bubble screen. Funchess gets four blockers on three defenders. Three of those blockers do nothing meaningful (2 whiffs and 1 block behind Funchess). CMC blocks both of the guys who get anywhere near Funchess. He catches the ball and runs downfield for a TD without having to do anything aside from beat the FS who never really had a chance. https://giphy.com/gifs/26u4abezUdszn8hTq

3. Cam's 69 Yard Zone Run: Miami commits to CMC zone portion opening up a giant hole for Cam's run. https://www.clippituser.tv/c/dwldym

And that ignores his two TD's and key catches. Yeah, no extra attention. No impact. Please.

And before anybody mentions it, I didn't put Stew as part of the above because I've been saying it all season that Stew hasn't regressed so much as he hasn't had anywhere to go. He got the blocking, he showed he still has it. Simple as that.

His physical run style/ pass protection will be important against defenses in the postseason.

Thank you for posting these because I wanted to talk about this.

First gif, guy following CMC first has him. That's his guy, whatever. Second person is not also shadowing him; he has no idea what his assignment is. If you're going to scheme around him like Gruden suggested, you wouldn't be doing pirouettes in the middle of the field. 20 is just doing nothing there. You wouldn't have him trailing behind the man linebacker. You'd have someone with outside contain.

Second gif I don't see him throwing three blocks of whatever. bumps his first man off the line. I see Kalil blocking two people, then CMC just being on the ground for some reason. It's a mess. Regardless, this is what he's supposed to do. Like this isn't some superstar play. RBs blocking on screen passes is NFL 101. Besides, the real star on this play is the center (Van Roten or Larsen), who doesn't make the block but changes the safety's angle enough to let Funchess get in. Funchess is holding the ball like an asshole there, on the defenders side.

Third one is Kiko I'm pretty sure making the wrong read. He had a rough night Why do you think that's all because of CMC? The Panthers have run that play with Tolbert, Fozzy, CAP, DeAngelo, Stewart, etc. This isn't some new wrinkle CMC added to the offense. Cam Newton and the Panthers were literally running that play when he was in high school. Kiko dove on him because A.) he's terrible and B.) teams are probably writing off Cam keeping it this year, though that's probably about to change.

lol did you guys watch the panthers before CMC joined or what?
