trading up for otah was not the problem

he resigned delhomme in 2009, couldn't trade or lock up peppers, and traded up for zod favorite everette brown

THAT was the beginning of the end.

Trading up for Otah was a problem.  He started less than 30 games and then was out of the league.  For a first round OT and one we traded up for?  So then in 2009 when we have no 1st round pick and we need defensive help, we reach up again.  Takes away another 1st round pick from 2010.  In the end, this all led to Cam Newton, so thanks Hurney, but it was bad decline after the Arizona playoff loss with no guarantee of a recovery.

The Otah pick in and of itself was fine. Otah was great when he was healthy and motivated. He just got hurt and fat. No GM can call that.

Brown was a dumb pick. He fell for a reason. Shouldn't have happened but in hindsight, stopped us from being able to draft Jimmy Clausen in the first (remember Hurney was trying to trade up for him lol)and with the old CBA around we probably would've stuck with him and passed on Cam.

So trading up for Brown actually was the best thing to happen to us lol.

All in all I agree, Hurney shouldn't be our GM going forward, but his moves have helped us this year.

Yes, you've successfully connected dots. congrats

but otah was out of the league because he just decided to quit playing football. like, you could argue that's a draft process problem, but he was the best young RT in the league when he was out there. He could clearly play.

Dude just decided he didn't want to. I'm not sure how you put that on Hurney

Or....Gettleman shouldn't have drafted Funchess in the second round the following draft and either drafted a speedy receiver or an OLineman.

Funchess has shown tonight and other weeks his speed isn't a problem. Much better than Kelvin and it's not close.

Let’s not talk logic, rather, let’s let everyone over react. The Dolphins gave up middle of the 3rd quarter.

And we've played down to the level of much worse teams and defenses than the dolphins this year.

It's not the fact that it was a blow out but the fact that we looked fuging functional.

He's good, so is benjamin.  Point is the 'Twin Towers' idea of Gettlemans was stupid, Cam needed OL help and a speedy receiver to compliment the possession receiver.

This was my point.  I wish all the best for KB, but that was a bad decision to put those two together
