Saints clearly the best team in the NFCS, and it's not close

Game was out of reach and the defense was just going through the motions trying not to get injured.

Try to make the same argument with the first half. I'll wait.

Ok...yes this was very much the case in the first half as well. That drive I mentioned was nothing close to an anomaly if that’s what you’re suggesting..that was completely representative of the entire game, including the first half. They clearly ran the ball down their throats the entire game. I’m not sure if you watched the game or just looked at the score.

Is that a sufficient argument? I’m assuming you don’t mean for me to actually muster up any sort of evidence, since you never do so yourself. I don’t know why the onus is on me to provide evidence to refute your baseless claim in the first place. All you do is post biased speculative pieces based on your assertion that Shula is so terrible. The closest you come to providing evidence is some vague GIF showing our o-line and/or WRs whiffing on blocks to “prove” that our playcalling must be super complicated.

I mean there you go again. Really? The defense just gave up and wanted to avoid injuries at that point...is that the argument you want to make? You know the best way for a defense to avoid injuries? To get off the field...not to stay on the field for long 8-minute drives letting the o-line pound into you over and over and over. Not to mention the suggestion that these alpha male type NFL players are ok with continuing to get embarrassed in front of millions of people just to avoid getting injuries...this isn’t preseason. That’s why you constantly see teams playing hurry up offense with 1 minute left in the game down 3 scores.

I knew we were in deep poo with the Saints when their interior o-line was beating Star and KK. They're reaaaally good. On the other hand the injury bug could bite them at any time.

Have been really happy with the Oline. Armstead was actually out when we played Carolina, and some guys were playing out of normal position to fill in for the Strief and Armstead injuries.

Look at the numbers over the last several years when Brees was getting lit up by opposing defenses...he was still putting up massive numbers.

Bottom line, is that 1. We actually have a viable defense. 2. We can run effectively, the balance is incredible.

They are just now getting past the ridiculous raping that was bounty gate.

For years I've wanted the Panthers to upgrade their o-line like the Saints. Instead we've made some mind boggling picks, and signed Matt Kalil. As a result our offense looks weird to put it nicely. Not sure what the plan is with the Panthers, but we'll run Cam when we're in trouble.

The main thing the Saints have to fear at this point is the injury bug. Otherwise I think they might be on their way to the SB.

Yeah, that goes for everyone, especially when it’s the QB position. That’s pretty much a deal breaker for every team in the league....

We were missing Vacarro today, but didn’t matter much. Ingram would be a huge loss but they could probably manage. Cam Jordan would be a bad one.... etc.

one other thing I’d add:

im glad the organization realized sooner, than later, the the Peterson experiment was a bad move, and they ended it when they did instead of hanging on, not wanting to admit it was a mistake.

The Saints are the best team in the NFC. I've felt this way for several weeks now. We are going to have to take our level of play to several new levels if we want to win this division and we have a fight on our hands to stay as a wildcard.

Did you feel that way leading up to the game with the Panthers? No one else did.

    • The agenda was building around Bryce.  2 WR, 3 olinemen, TE, and a potentially elite RB.  I stood up for Bryce all last year because I didn't think you could evaluate him properly with what we had last year in coaching, play calling and personal.  Bryce was the 2nd least pressured QB in the last 2 weeks because of the money Morgan spent on the line.  Despite Bryce looking horrible I'd say Morgan has had an exceptional beginning as GM. Here some more things I liked. Trevin Wallace looked like a banger in preseason.  Resigned Brown.  Gave Horn his 5th year option and Horn is playing very well. *Flipped a 7th round pick for a starting CB in Michael Jackson who has also played well. Filled a depleted roster with solid vets and if you really look at the cap this is a 2 year play.  Almost everyone except the 2 elite guards signed a 2 year deal. Did not pay Stephen Gilmore 10 million for one season. *Got the 0-2 Rams 2nd pick next year. Set a culture and tone of the type of players we want.  *Dawgs. *Elite GM moves.
