    You know what. We did have a MAGIC year in 2015. But how many teams have done that? Does not a coach that can deliver that, DESERVE some credit?

 

    We are 6-3. We are in the thick of things. Yet again. We HAVE had SUCCESS in the recent past. We have a coach that has proven to be able to lead a team to the Promised land. Yet, that seems to be somehow less than acceptable?

 

    I don't get it.

Baby steps- get to where you have winning seasons in a row. Build a team slowly, but create a juggernaut. Up and down is not the way.

 

Fire Gettleman and bring in the Hurninator. Lather, rinse repeat. Enjoy it now, it only gets worse.

    Come on. 15-1, and a SuperB owl. Yes, I call that a magical season.

 

   It took Rivera two years to become basically a perennial playoff team. As we have missed the playoff once since then. And it looks as though we are headed that way again.

 

    I mean. What more can he do?

    This isn't basketball. You need more than a few great player to make the playoffs. I mean, c'mon man.

 

    Cam and Luke are great. But they are not the two best players in the league. Don't over exaggerate trying to under value Rivera's accomplishments.

WE didn't have anything to do with making the playoffs in that 7-9-1 year, the rest of the NFCS just sucked more.  So as far as I'm concerned he had 2 good years out of 6.

15-1 made people believe that should happen every year. That's not realistic.

 

    Not sure what it is about some Panther fans. They just assume winning is a birth rite. We have had more success in our short existence than a whole lot of team. Yet, for some reason, that just ain't enough.

    Quantify it however you wish. The fact remains. We have made the playoffs 3 out of the last 4 years. And are looking strong to make it again this year.

 

    If the goal is to make the playoffs, which we seem to be doing quite regularly lately. What more can Rivera do?

 

    And it was 7-8-1. If you are going to throw shade at Rivera. Maybe you could, you know, get your facts correct.

Why do you not include his first 2 years, I don't understand how they are not relative.  Anyway, I know that there are a lot worse options out there as head coach.  We have had a few bad ones over the year, and Rivera might be our best coach in Carolina.  TBH, I would be okay with RR If he ever got rid of Shula.  But, we all know he wont.

      from the observer     Miami Dolphins. The Panthers will welcome one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL, led by Alabama alum Tua Tagovailoa and fast-as-a-cheetah Tyreek Hill, to Bank of America Stadium in 2025. The Dolphins are 8-8 this year and are 6-2 against the Panthers all-time. *Seattle Seahawks. This home matchup marks a full-circle moment for Dave Canales, who cut his NFL teeth under Pete Carroll in Seattle. Carolina is 4-9 all-time against the Seahawks and lost the last contest in the matchup in 2023. Seattle is 9-7 heading into Week 18. *Los Angeles Rams. The Rams are perennial playoff contenders and have notched seven winning seasons the past eight years. The Panthers are 12-10 against the Rams all-time. *Buffalo Bills. This year it was the Kansas City Chiefs. This year’s Super Bowl contenders making a trip to Bank of America Stadium? Josh Allen and the Bills. The Panthers are 2-6 all-time against the Buffalo franchise. New York Giants / Cowboys. The Panthers had a home game — technically — against the Giants this year. That was in Germany, of course. And the 2025 Giants (3-13 entering Week 18) will look a lot different than the ones the Panthers faced in Munich, what with a new quarterback coming and a refurbished offense. That is, of course, if the Panthers finish last in the NFC South. If not, they face the Cowboys (7-9) New England Patriots. Panthers fans get an up-close look at their homegrown NFL quarterback when Carolina travels to Foxborough to take on the Drake Maye-led Patriots. The Pats are 3-13 entering Week 18. New York Jets. The Jets are 4-12 this year and have an existential crisis to handle this offseason — with their situations at quarterback and their head coach not exactly stable. At least for now, it feels like a compelling matchup for the Panthers on the road. San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers seem much better than 6-10. And they will likely be in 2025 — particularly if former Panther Christian McCaffreystays healthy. The Panthers are 13-9 against San Francisco all-time. Chicago Bears / Green Bay Packers. The Panthers are either playing the last-placed Bears or the second-to-last-place Packers in 2025, two very different. The mostly that emerged from Soldier Field this season focused on how much the Bears had “fleeced” the Panthers in their blockbuster trade before the 2023 season. But with Bryce Young playing well and the Bears in free fall and with a new coach incoming, that perception might be different next season. Tennessee Titans / Jaguars. The Panthers are facing either the last-place team or the second-to-last place team in the AFC South in 2025, depending on Sunday’s results. (A Titans win and a Jaguars loss could knot them at 4-13 each, but the Jags have the edge with their divisional record and would thus earn the tiebreaker.) Arizona Cardinals. The Panthers are also facing the Cardinals, who are entering Week 18 with a 7-9 record.

      Our offense averages 18.6 points per game, good for 25th in the league this year. Not great. worst offense ever? 7.4 ppg. Over 11 points per game difference. our defense? 31 ppg. Good for 32nd (by a lot) worst defense ever? 32.5 ppg by the 2020 lions.
