Everyone needs to place more blame on the Offensive Line and less blame on Jake.

Jake is not playing well....but the Offensive Line is playig atrocious and consistently putting Jake in BAD situations.

He has no time to set up in the pocket. He normally has happy feet...add to it that the OL is gviing him about 2 seconds of protection and we are in trouble.

If the OLine steps it up, Jake's numbers will improve dramatically.

It's more than obvious to anyone who knows what they are watching on the TV screen or at the game. I'm amazed by how many people are ignoring this more than obvious fact.

No doubt we need the OLine to perform at a higher level...it'd also help if Jake would step up IN THE POCKET as well.

That being said that was a great run by Jake and I hope we can continue this trend

Def agree.. but on that note, there isn't much of a pocket to step up into.. When he was pressured, on most cases, the line collapsed rather quickly. Shockingly, quick. Every sack showed this. I'm curious if Davidson complicated the blocking assignments this offseason... There has to be a reason we dropped so significantly, and that's the only thing I can figure would cause such a drop off...

That can be said (hypothesized) abut any QB at any level. The fact remains that you cannot always count on that happening and therefore you have to be a QB that can adapt if not given perfect protection week in and week out. For the most part today Jake did that and that is all we can ever ask of Jake Delhomme.

Agree with the majority of your post.. I just want to nitpick, like mentioned right above this, when he was pressured, the pocket fell apart before he could even get back into a stance. There wasn't a pocket to step up in. Perhaps not every time, but majority of the time. Every sack that did occur was due to that.

LOL @ Tank, Brady does the same thing with his armband. Other QBs too. That's the point of having the armband. The OC calls the play # in and the QB reads the armband and calls the play corresponding to the #. Bush league complaint from someone who must not watch other NFL teams and is looking for something to whine about.

He still needs to learn how to count in his head and throw the ball away.

He tries too hard to make something out of nothing, which is the actual problem beyond everything else. He tries way too hard, but I actually like that.

I dont think that ANYONE could argue that Jake almost LOST us the game today-- BUT Jake also- WON us the game today....

I will take that from my QB any day of the week.

That's basically what every single QB does, really.

There were lots of poor decisions that he didn't end up paying for because the ball bounced in our favor.

We get it, Jake is a hero again and Julius Peppers is 100% redeemed. Playoffs, here we come.

I don't think he'll ever "hold back" the team because of that very fact. I doubt the Panthers will ever have a perfect team anyway (who can?).
