Cam is now in the Top 10 all-time for rushing TDs for a player that only played for 1 team

Tied for 10th anyway. Kind of an odd list, but it's:

1. Walter Payton 110

2. Jim Brown 106

3. Barry Sanders 99

4. Leroy Kelly 74

5. Steve Van Buren 69

6. Lenny Moore 63

7. Terrell Davis 60

8. Mike Alstott 58

9. Tiki Barber 55

10t. Emerson Boozer 52

10t. Cam Newton 52

He's tied with 3 other players for 66th all-time period, 7th among active players. Where do you think he'll end up?

This is insane.

What's more insane is even after all this some people still aren't sold.

Seriously?

Probably because of his inconsistency in passing . If someone's trying to debate you on his rushing prowess, then they shouldn't be winning THAT argument.

Especially this season , Cam still has more INTs than TDs, and his ratio and completion percentage were ass last year too. Yes theres a number of factors that go into why that happened, but in reality Cam will continue to be ripped by pretty much everyone as inconsistent or average at passing until he proves otherwise. He stepped it up against New England and Detroit, but has since regressed again in accuracy. Which just further proves the naysayers points.

If someone is still a naysayer this many years in, they always were, and they always will be.

Agreed his accuracy has left something to be desired, but last year he looked superb and was in MVP form early. The headshots took a toll by the midway point, and we know about the shoulder.

This season the lack of run game early has really hampered the offense. If we can sustain that Cam is accurate enough for us to beat just about anyone.

Right now Cam has 3907 total rushing yards, and is only 48 rushing yards away from passing Mike Vick in QB rush yard leaders for #3 spot in all time QB rush yards. Steve Young is #2 with 4309 and Randall Cunningham is #1 with 4928 . I think Cam should get up to about 4200 rushing yards by the end of this season, and he should be pushing 5000 rushing yards by the time his 9th (Age 30) season is over. Which is mind boggling for a quarterback.

He's already beaten the record for most QB rush TDs with his current 52 rush TDs.  I'm guessing his career is about halfway done by the end of this year his 7th season. I dont think its meaningful to look at all time rushing stats, his rushing is going to massively drop off by the time he hits 32 or 33 or maybe even earlier, its just human body and what I'm guessing is he's going to transition into being a more accurate and efficient passer that just scrambles more often than your average QB.

So if Cam plays for about 14 years (basically through his age 36 season) , I'd predict him to have about 6000 rushing yards and around 80 rushing TDs.

That is a very odd list, and somewhat misleading.  Taking Emmitt Smith as an example, he played for the Cowgals for 13 years and had a 154 td's for them, then played for Arizona for a couple of mostly meaningless seasons.  If Cam plays 14 years for us, then goes to some other team to finish his career for a year, he drops from this list.

But Cam has been a good qb for us, no doubt about it. Needs to finish his career with a Couple of Rings.

    • There's some big assumptions in here - first, I think Canales HAS helped Bryce a poo ton. To pretend he hasn't is asinine. Has he fixed him?  I mean, the dude looks like he could perhaps be a backup or low-end starter now, whereas he looked like he didn't belong in the NFL a year ago. You're talking about a coach that brought one of the worst NFL QBs of all time to a point where he may actually be a low-end starter. That IS impressive. Second, the bolded. Come on - given the offense, the dude is far from "trending towards bust." He definitely needs work but he's shown an impressive ability to get open. He's contributing to an anemic offense. The dude is our leading receiver (though he'll be #2 in yardage by end of season by a little, as Thielen does better per game).  As to his coaching, he had this team competing and believing against 3 of the better teams in the NFL, despite the lack of talent, and despite our QB situation.  Yes, things fell apart vs DAL, and he was outcoached. But that will happen with young coaches IMO.  I don't think it indicates he cant' be better. The idea of "pulling off the bandage" is ridiculous. Who would want to coach here if we fired this guy after one season?
    • Whatever they are in totality the cowboys are beat up all to hell on both sides of the ball and even that was too much for lil Bryce to overcome.  Bryce defenders have to hype up every other team and trash every other part of the panthers just because of the situation they’ve put themselves in.
    • JB had a first round grade in the eyes of a lot scouts based on HIS TALENT LEVEL. If not for the injury he would have gone higher in the draft, possibly between the middle and the end of round 1. To get him just before the 50th pick is a steal. He'd be on a 4 year deal. You can't even renegotiate until the end of the season 3. You're basically paying him nothing for 3 seasons. I don't buy into all back are interchangeable. No they're not. You have average backs, good backs, then your great-exceptional backs. The latter category doesn't grow on trees. If a back is special it pays to keep them. The key is knowing the difference between the first two categories and the third one.
