If you look at funchess production yesterday maybe the front office was on to something trading Benjamin

Funchess had a nice game yesterday. What concerns me is the ball distribution to the receivers. We're being told that the Panthers wanted more speed on the field. Nothing wrong with that in theory.

The box score shows that Cam only attempted 8 passes to receivers not named Funchess and MaCaffrey and only completed 3 of them. All 3 of those passes were to Curtis Samuel, our deep threat ,who only averaged 7.7 yds per reception.

The passing game needs to become a bit more explosive to justify the trade. I hope things get better as the season progresses. Greg coming back will help, but if Cam can start hitting guys deep this team could cause some problems in the NFC come playoff time.

It’s really not. It’s like saying that a reservoir is now empty due to one guy getting his water there in 2014 and 2016 while ignoring the drought those years and multiple tropical storms in 2015.

Running game and turnovers have more impact than replacing KB with Shepard.

the danger is inserting causation. i agree that's ridiculous. but you can meaningfully support that KB is not essential to this team's success, which is the actual important point here.
