Love this draft . We can groom McGlinchey behind Kalil for a season and have him ease into the starting role in his 2nd season. Or if hes good enough he can start right away. Cam needs a franchise LT. Got some direly needed secondary depth that could be groomed into eventual starters. Some late round Dline prospects . Picked up Fumagali in the 5th round is a steal at that point.

Double up at safety.  Our DBs are the biggest weak point on the team.  Weak tackles, poor coverage.  Both of these guys will help.

Sweat is a ultra athletic DE with loads of potential.  Dealt with injuries since high school and forced to play 3-4 DE in FSU defense despite being long thin better fot for 4-3 D.

Pettis helps the WRs

Athletic CB with great ball skills to compete and oush these other young struggling CBs

Samuels- Love this pick and im a UNC fan.  I like Armah but Shula and Rivera just dont use a traditional lead FB.  Samuel is more like a Tolbert, Great reciever, Solid rusher, and can block if needed

Cam has proven he can work with average weapons (see 2015).  Problem is our DBs still need as much work if not more than the WRs.

Funchess is better than what the huddle likes to think and has really started to show some promose this year in his first season getting major pt.he's still young too, only 6 months older than Calvin Ridley who many here would love us to draft.

Other thing to consider.  This years FA is much stronger on the WR side of the house vs DBs.

2018 FA WRs include: Devante Adams, Pryor, Watkins, Decker, Paul Richardson, Allen Robinson, Landry, Donte Moncrief, John Brown, etc.  Hurney has shown he is not afraid to throw around $$. So once he locks up our own guys that he wants to keep, he will peobably throw $$ that way to one of them.

The TE, I just dont see us grabbing another guy high this year with Olsen and Dickson.  We've had plenty of opportunity especially with this past class that was stacks.  And in FA when Olsen went down.  Just seems Rivera and Shula doesnt have a high priority on our TE2

 

So im still sticking with, if I were the GM

1. Ronnie Harrison

2. Trade up via using one of our 3rds: and grabbing Joshua Jackson

3.  Armani Watts

4. Trade up and grab: Pettis

5. BPA: a pass rusher prefferably with the age of ours.  My favorite later prospect IF he comes out is Porter Gustin

And then throw in my FA prospects

2. Aaron Lynch

3. Amukamara

I haven’t researched the prospects that much yet, but as of now I really like this draft/FA

In this mock, I attempted to address the OL.  With Ryan Kalil nearing the end of his career, we need a Center, and Mason Cole is one of the best around.  Courtland Sutton is the best WR in the draft, by far.  He would instantly help us.  Duke Ejiofor from WFU is likely the most underrated DE in the draft.  Guy is a terror off the edge.  Lastly - I think it's time for Derek Anderson to be phased out... Quinton Flowers isn't a savior at QB, but he is more like a Joe Webb, and we wouldn't have to completely change our offensive plan if Cam goes down for any reason.

Theae things are fun, but especially this far out they're oftentimes wildly inaccurate in terms of where prospects will ultimately be rated by NFL teams. He'll, if we came out of the draft with only theae first four guys I'd be thrilled to death, but Mason Cole in the 7th? LOL! I'm embarrassed I didnt draft him sooner but he was too far down the draft board for me to even spot him still there.

Funchess, Cobbs Jr, Olsen gives Cam 3 big targets, while we add Samuels to McCaffrey, Samuel, Byrd as our versatile offensive weapons. I know people will say Samuels is too close to CMC and Curtis Samuel but I don't see that as a bad thing. Especially if we are adding a bigger body like Cobbs Jr.
