Beane did not call us last minute

There's a key flaw to this line of thinking though:

Hurney wasn't looking to replace Benjamin, only to dump him.

Per Hurney's own statements, he believes getting rid of Benjamin is, by itself, a move to make our receiving corps faster and more effective.

Basically, he believes that trading Benjamin is addition by subtraction. He didn't look for a replacement because he didn't think one was necessary.

And what does that boil down to?

That the answer is on the roster.

CAP space was even more of a important factor.

He was big on him during the draft. That’s his reasoning.

He’d add some downfield speed and wouldn’t cost too much given that he’s a FA after this season.

He’s a lot more proven than the guys we are going to have to rely on now.

So important in fact that prior to Brandon Beane giving him a call, Marty Hurney was prepared to do... absolutely nothing.

Solid argument.

I love watching these guys try to play Shaun Spicer on here.  It's fuging hilarious.

I can't fathom why we didn't call the dolphins about Jarvis Landry

Maybe we did, we will never know.

I dont believe we did but we would only know if we worked something out. We had no idea the Bills called on MOnday until just recently, days after the fact. There are many things talked about that dont happen that dont go public.

Exactly....who is to say that there weren't calls placed to other teams before Hurney called Beane back and agreed to the trade? It is all speculation, but Hurney Haters would never give him the benefit of the doubt.

He is the worst, he is an idiot, and has no idea what he is doing. Didn't you see in the other thread that he had already put us above the cap next year with all of his extensions?
