CMC as OROTY

Hurney's reasoning for getting rid of KB was to get more speed on the field in the wide receiver spot.  CMC already has more targets than our wide receivers do, and many of them are checkdowns. If we are throwing even more 5 yard passes to CMC, then it would seem to indicate the replacements aren't getting open and Hurney's plan didn't succeed.

So, it has come to this. CmC doesn't run routes, he just stands around waiting on a check down. And I love how you base all this on events that have yet to happen? Fear is such a fickle mistress.

It is a fact that Cam had it bad for KB. With him gone, those targets are going to go to Samuel, Shepard, and even CmC. All of those guys have speed, and wiggle. Defenses are going to have to account for that. Which should lessen the number of defenders in the box area.

With KB gone. Our WR rotation just got faster. Not sure what makes this concept so difficult to grasp?

And since you are unwilling, to consider Samuel, and Shepard into the equation. Or the fact that they just may succeed. I think I will bow out of this discussion.

Ha, you stole my gif from two months ago regarding the Butker/Gano situation.  That situation will truly cause one’s head to explode if they let it.  That weirdo thinks I give a damn about his mediocre football team and Glas-shon, he is mistaken.

Both the Panthers and Saints made a mistake by not getting the 21 year old that never misses a game at a more premium position, who plays for the top team currently in the NFC, and is making them look smart.  https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/sports/csn/eagles/1st-rounder_Derek_Barnett_making_Eagles_look_smart-454109383.html

1.  Didn't say anything about CMC running routes or not running routes.  He is averaging about 7 yards a catch, and some of that yac.  It means he is catching 5 yard passes.  That's just a fact.  We throw it to him more than any running back in the NFL, that's another fact.  We want to throw it to our wr's more, and be more of a downfield threat.  If CMC as a running back, gets even more passes than he is getting now (more than any back in the NFL), then it means we are not throwing it downfield as much as we want to.

2.  You say its a fact, but KB actually had fewer targets than Funchess or CMC.  So it can't really be proven.

3.  I agree, its faster.  I haven't seen any proof that its actually better.  If I do, then I will admit that I was wrong.

4.  I am not unwilling to consider either of them.  In fact, my first comment to you was about CMC, not Samuel or Shepard.  I assume both of them will get more targets.  I hope they will actually catch them.   Doesn't mean I agree with releasing our only proven receiver during the middle of a potential playoff run.

Sorry if you are getting upset, I was just having a discussion.  While CMC is a nice option to have, I don't want to see a rb being our reception leader.   Bottom line is I do believe we need to throw it to our WR's more, to stretch the field. I just have serious doubts about the staff's methodology for ensuring that we do.  Most teams that need a deep/speed threat go out and get a proven one, or they draft someone.  We just release players before the backups have proven anything.

That would be NFCS leading, mediocre football team and currently best graded CB in football Marshon Lattimore, to you, good sir.

I'm not mad. I'm disappointed. You said all that, and it all comes down to two things. You don't expect Samuel, and Shep to help our passing game. And CmC gets to many "Check downs", and don't want him to get even more.

Because of your fear of failure, you are projecting it into your thought process. You think things won't get better. I, on the other hand, don't think things are as bad as folks make them out to be.

Popping a little blue pill once every 5 years does not make one a great lover.  I’d be surprised if the standings aren’t even at worst when we go to the dome where we have an all time winning record.

damn dude you gotta do Deshaun like that

Just a sad reality of the NFL man, there's always alot of injuries every season and you never know who it'll strike next. Part of greatness is just simple availability and longevity, and that is a rarity in the violent game of football.

    • At this rate, maybe he'll be a decent 8-9 QB on his 3rd HC by year 6. Standards are so low around here now. Tepper has done some serious damage to the fan base.
