CMC as OROTY

CMC can easily catch him in total yards.  Like Luke and Pep talked about turnovers.  When you are as good as the Panther D they will come.  And when they come, they will come in a plenty.  Same applies to a guy as talented as CMC IMO.   The big plays are coming.

yeah if we get enough turnovers and opportunities from the defense, CMC will be able to 3 yard reception his way into relevancy!

CMC is like the 5th best rookie RB right now, hopefully he shoots up but he isnt even in the discussion right now. Very few of his catches or yards make much of an impact other than occasionally moving the chains. If he starts breaking off some big plays like Hunt, Fournette or even Kamara have done, then we can humor the idea. But since Watson is a QB, he pretty much has locked it up already.

Doubt all you want.  CMC gonna get loose soon.

Said it all year, and 2014 shows it too.....takes Carolina awhile to solve the defensive looks they face with no Ginn. They finally did at the end of 2014.  They look to be forcing the issue now and given Shula no choice but to bust the coverages.  That will open up CMC.  Because right now, all defenses are doing is playing CMC and Cam.

Once we force teams out of those defensive overages they have played all year....things will change.

I would love to see this.  But, do you honestly think Shula will be able to call plays for that to happen?  Or are you banking on his talent winning out on this?

I completely share your optimism about CMC's abilities and potential. However, realization of it hinges on the decisions of two, perhaps even three, people who have not been great at either putting players in a position to succeed, or taking full advantage of their talent...or both.

Watson wins in stats

Watson wins in popularity

Watson wins in the fact he is playing the toughest position - and not just having better stats than rookies but more TD passes than literally everyone and didn't even start 2 games.

Watson gets it walking away. If he went down, his team wouldn't be nearly as good. If Hunt went down, just inset another RB.

it isn't really the playcall.  It is having the talent to alter the defensive schemes....and yeah, Cam has to make the throws.

Ted Ginn wasn't good.  He just wouldn't allow people to play a single high S all game.

Defenses literally have given zero respect to the pass game.  So it bottles up everything and makes life hard on the OL, RBs and the short routes.  Because the defenses literally play coverage that would allow a real passing game to abuse them for HUGE big plays.

Gotcha, well.  If it happens, you'll look like Nostradamus.  But, man.  I don't know.

Bingo

Fournette's close to them too. He's got at least 1 TD in every game played and a couple huge games in an offense that is literally only him. Hunt and Watson both have a ton of pieces around them to take the load off of them. Fournette's doing it by himself and still does have the stats.
