If the offense shows up Sunday it's an idictment on how stupid our coaching staff is

We should of never drafted Funchess to begin with, that's Gettleman fault

But even after two years of evidence it was obvious that Funchess and Kelvin shouldn't be on the field together. But since Shula and Rivera are two cowards they didn't have the balls to bench Funchess.

So now instead of benching Funchess, they trade Benjamin and use him as the scapegoat.

While I can agree that Gettleman didn't help us any by drafting Funchess, I still like Funchess ceiling better than KB.

I also don't agree that it's the coaching staffs fault. Benching a starter causes problems, especially in the locker room. No thanks.

KB was given his 5th year option in hopes he'd elevate his game this season. He hasn't.

We got something for him while we could.

I think it's the other way around. If our offense shows up, that means Shula had the tools all along, but he didn't use them until he had no other option. Or Ron was stubborn and refused to use other receivers. Personally, I think it's a combination of the 2.

If our offense doesn't show up, then there's still issues with the front office and coaches that have nothing to do with KB, and we better get our defense like Denver's 2 years ago because that's the only way to get back to the Superb owl.

I love your negative out look you have in each hand.

I know it would be wrong for me to hope this team tanks the rest of the season but it’s basically the only way we see a shake-up in the coaching staff...

We could lose the rest of the games and the team would blame injuries and player execution. I honestly think we would change QBs before we changes coaches.

Funchess is having a decent season with Cam forcing him the ball

Kelvin was still out producing him with less targets and less snaps

KB was Cam's security blanket without Olsen in the lineup.  Cam has forced the ball to Benjamin way too much during KB's time here, not Funchess (not saying that Cam never forced it to Funch). Can forced it to KB so much so that it was frustrating at times because Devin or others were open.  Now,  hopefully Cam will make better reads and take what the defense gives him.  I don't think that he should be forcing it to Funchess or anyone,  but hit the open man.  My biggest question is how She,  Samuel and Funchess will play with and off one another,  and whether that will be enough of a legitimate threat to make defenses think twice about stacking the box so much.

On an off note,  I've always suspected that Funch is indeed a more complete receiver than KB.  Now we will see.

It all kind of starts with Cam though (if not Shula).

Even if Olsen comes back he will be Cam's go to guy like it had always been so there is not much of a difference between KB or Olsen getting the ball. That alone is how Panthers football is played as you have seen. We need to be able to spread the ball around like many of the other teams do and if not we are doomed to stay as the leagues laughing stock team.

I have zero faith in Shula and Ron. If the reason Hurney gave is legit, that means they are not capable of recognizing that KB and Fun on the field at the same time gives the offense zero speed. This is something that even the drunkest fan could see on Sunday and we've all been saying for months. At this point, I don't see how anyone can think Ron and Shula are the key to success for the future of this team.

If there was an option that could not completely mess up the chemistry of this team at this point in the season, I would can one or both right now. Shula for sure.

I don’t, I’ve been following Funchess underwhelming career since Michigan, he reminds me of a bigger Lafell

Trading a starter causes even more locker room problems.

KB was having his most efficient season to date. That’s with Cam force feeding Mccaffrey and Funchess

Check the targets

Idk what games have you been watching this season but Cam is clearly forcing the ball to Funchess, last week a lone he took 3 forced deep shots to Funchess who gets zero separation.

And Shula is hell bent on forcing screens to Mccaffrey.

KB was third in the pecking order and still out producing both of them.

I’ve always said we need a Desean Jackson opposite of KB

Sometimes targets are justified. Sometimes not.  I'm not simply talking this season.

As to your last statement,  now we have a Samuel or Byrd with that kinda speed opposite Funchess [Please, Shula,  not Shepard!],  so we're just gonna have to make it work until the off-season.

Just a little unsolicited advice: stop commiserating about who we don't have, and root for the boys we do.

The concept of two massive recievers isn’t a bad one, and I’d argue that if KB had turned out to be a giant agent 89, we would have an offense for the history books right now.

KB Didn’t work out. Period.

Benching funchess for KB would be a stupid move and nothing would have changed.

Like it or don’t, this move guarantees change. That’s exaclty what we need.

All we can talk about is this season. You can’t rehash old seasons. Especially when they are taken without context

Byrd isn’t available until week 12, so no we don’t have Byrd, and Samuel is behind Shepherd. The notion that Samuel is some great deep threat has to stop, he’s a raw rookie whose still struggling with getting off jams.

Its not commiserating when it hasn’t even been 48 hours since the dumbest trade of the nfl season happen.

freindly reminder, KB went down against the saints in the first quarter, Cam went on to throw 3 int 0 TD for 160 yards and we got blown out by 3 TD. 4 if you don’t count garbage time.

Here’s hoping for the best
