2015 Recreation

To me, with the signing of Bersin, it would appear that the Hurndog is looking to create a lineup similar to what we had in 2015. Bersin can fill the Cotchery role, Funchess can fill the Funchess role, but we still don't have any one to fill the void left by Ginn. The two times Ginn has left us, the following season we have an anemic offense. This isn't to say that Ginn is an all world receiver, only that his ability to draw safeties up the field relieves pressure on everything underneath.

Until we have someone who is used in a way to force defenses to play Cover 1, 2, or 3 rather than Cover 0, it doesn't matter who is playing receiver or running back for us. Thus far this season, defenses have been able to man up, bring their safeties down and pin their ears back on the line because we have no one that can create separation down field. Hurney was right in saying we need more speed, but we also need Olsen, a speed guy, and better use of CMC when split out wide to take advantage of what this offense truly can do.

This teams obsession with 2015 is tanking our franchse. It is complete fallacy to think teams don't know how to beat 2015 panthers. You have to change or die in this league. NE constantly works on new things to do to. They don't run the same crap that they won on before unless it still works once it stops working it's out till they don't expect it again.

You mean the same team that got curb stomped in the SB?  The same team that got figured out and game planned for in 2016 and got beat regularly?  Yeah let's go back to that.

Oh please...stop with the dramatics.

We were 17-1 going into the SB.  If we were so easy to figure out, why didn't anyone but Atlanta (who we also beat) figure us out so easily?  We played a bad game in the SB.  It fuggin happens.

In fairness to the Superb Own result, the Broncos front 7 completely wrecked every team they played toward the end of the year.

Yeah and everyone knows how to beat that team now. Stop living in the past the NFL constantly changes. Teams have to as well.

I think one of two things is going on:

  1. The lack of diversity in coaching has led to a plateau for Cam and the ability for teams to understand exactly what we do on offense because there hasn't been much modification in the past three seasons
  2. Cam has reached the pinnacle of his abilities and isn't able to adapt into the role that Shula is trying to move him into

What makes you think everyone knows how to beat that team?  Because Denver gave the entire NFL the blueprint?

News flash...we had 2 fumbles in that SB that resulted in 14 points.  We also had a missed field goal.  That is 17 points that was the direct result of poor player execution, not coaching or film study.  We had a bad day.

And the blue print was laid on how to defeat us.  It's out there for the world to see and use.

Atlanta figured it out and the Broncos perfected it.  There is no going back to that and no amount of spin can change it.

Dave knew it and tried to at least add different pieces to the chess board.  He may have failed (given that he had no options with coaching changes) but he tried.  I'll give him that.

Who cares about 2015 and KB not playing? I still can’t believe there are idiots that actually think the loss of KB is what made 2015. An extra 50 yards rushing per game, an extra 1 yard per rush, 1 less sack allowed per game and a +20 turnover margin compared to -7 this year is the difference between now and 2015. We’ve gotten lucky that the D has been top 2 this year or else we’d be 2-6.

Letting KB go isn’t going to magically make us block better so stop equating loss of KB to 2015. So many other more important factors although KB was hugely missed in the Super Bowl. If he was playing, I think we win.

I wasn't equating it. Simply suggesting that is what Hurney is doing.

Also, one less sack, 50 yards rushing, and an extra one yard per carry is a lot when you consider volume.

It may not magically make us block better but it might make some players realize that this is a business and no one is invincible (older veterans seem to be the exception). It should also make them realize that everyone is being scrutinized closely so if you're continuously missing blocks or forgetting assignments the outcome of their $hitty play should be expected

We're only a few players off from being that team again . Our defense is better now overall but we're better at turnovers ok and our oline was better in 2015 but if we fix the oline and let Shula run the same offense it could be like 2015 all over . Clay can fit in the ginn roll he showed his tallent in the preseason and we originally lost that trade with seamour but beane did is a favor a dropped him so we can get him back . Cam is better without Kelvin and the team is better without Kelvin we'll be fine .

OK igor/farach/whoever
