No.  Norman was doing what players do in his situation.  Not signing the tender at that point was not odd.  Happens all the time.  Gettlemen is the one who went off the road unplanned to keep his "rep".   Can't really be debated Norman wasn't going to hold out.  Dude was like a wounded puppy.  He had no intention of not playing here.  Just trying to get paid.

Much like Mike Shula not even getting a sniff of an inquiry of an aside of a mere mention of an interview for a HC position after our Super Bowl year, there's a reason why Brenton Bersin hasn't received even a sniff of an inquiry of an aside of a mere mention of an opportunity to join an NFL team other than the Carolina Panthers.

The reasons, in both cases, are perfectly legitimate as to why.

Because he knows the playbook, is a reliable catcher, good blocker, and we won't be relying on him to play more than ~15 snaps a game. It not an exciting pick-up but a practical one.

I really wish we would go get Philly, he was better than Bersin ever was. I dont understand the Panthers love for Bersin but if we are going to be bring old Allsoran players back Philly is better.

The issue here is that Hurney said he wanted more speed and diversity in player type. Bersin can fill the Cotchery role we had in 2015 (it is my assumption this is what he is trying to recreate), but it is still up to Shula to figure out how to turn one of our current receivers into the threat that Ted Ginn was. I don't think we have anyone on the #SQUAD that will be the fastest guy on the field on any given Sunday like Ginn was.
