Steve Smith: "There are routes that those two guys (Benjamin/Funchess) can't run. So if you have the same two guys running the same routes it limits your offense and route tree."

And I bet you wouldn't push off at the top  of your route to get separation either... Funchess is just garbage all around. For someone who played TE in college, he can't block for poo either

The dude is garbage, I swear I feel like a Hurney traded KB just to keep Funchess around as further indictment on Daves draft picks.

Keep Benji and it's tougher to say that was the right call firing him.

Thats why I want Buffalo to go win the Super Bowl now and Benji catch 3 touchdowns in the Super Bowl.

I mean Jamies Winston got drafted number 1 because of Benji, if Benji doesn't play for them, FS has no national title and Who knows where Winston goes,...

theres probably 8 or more games where if Benji doesn't play we don't even come close to winning.

2015 year we just had a much stronger team and Cam played lights out.

now I'd be surprised if we win another game other than Miami,...

i say that and if we blow out Atlanta and score 30 on offense then a big turkey will be happily eaten, but prove me wrong

No way in fuging hell Fun ran a 4.4. Dude can't get separation from a refrigerator, natural 4.4 speed would create separation in and out of his breaks and especially on deep balls, which he can't do any of

He’s actually better than Kelvin Benjamin by a longshot at separating and route running.

Funchess is better at separating on those deeper routes (post, corner, go) because he is simply faster than Benji.

However everything within 10 yards it’s a wash and Benji has that extra fight in him to go get the ball plus knows how to use his body sooo much better it’s not even close.

Even on those deeper routes, I’d feel much more comfortable throwing up one to Benji who has a corner attached to his hip than Funchess who has a step on a man due to Benji’s ability to use his muscle.

Funchess is a very smooth moving athlete it’s very easy to fall in love with him but Benji has that toughness that allows him to compete against anyone. Funchess is limited.

Funchess will have a tough test immediately as I assume he’ll now get Trufant this Sunday?

My biggest issue with Devin is that with the way he needs to turn his hands over and see the ball into his hands in order to catch it, it really limits his ability to make plays downfield.

For example his TD against KC last year

https://youtu.be/OWgjzqMvhdc

This is how he goes about catching deep balls. Where has Benji you can throw it over his shoulder (@ Detroit this year) and he’ll make the grab.

Throwing go routes to Devin is extremely tough and more than likely he goes to the post so he can come across the face of the ball

2017 Trufant has had issues

god damn it Beane should be our GM

He thinks outside the box,  and that's right down my damn alley! I really appreciate that mad scientist aspect/approach to GMing. Thinking short and long term.  Hedging his bets short term by making smart---potentially prolific moves,  but hard-pressed to bankrupt the long term. I like him.

Beane reminds me of the backup QB behind a struggling starter - always the popular player on the team, even though he hasn't proven anything yet. The main thing I have seen Beane do is take every Panther player we want to part with. He has acquired draft picks well, but let's see what he does in the next year or so before we crown him.

Idk Funch has looked better to me this year overall. Generally has played bigger than KB.

steve doesnt have a grudge against KB. He welcomed him after the Baltimore game in 2014.

If funch has looked better to you this year you're being extremely selective and ridiculous. I think what you mean is Funchess has looked impressive to you a couple games this year compared to his past performances but you're letting that get to your head and mesmerize you, on no planet is he better than KB nor has he looked better than KB this season.
