Steve Smith: "There are routes that those two guys (Benjamin/Funchess) can't run. So if you have the same two guys running the same routes it limits your offense and route tree."

Yeah most get that part of it but the answer isn’t to trade the better one of the two.

Obviously Funchess has no trade value but that still doesn’t mean you trade the one that does. There’s a reason why KB has trade value.

Im benching Funchess before trading KB

Here is the problem with this though and it always boils down to the money. Like he said 8.5 million for 450yds production. Not worth the money. Funchess has very similar numbers if not better this season and wont demand half that amount of money even at the end of his rookie contract. While I think KB is more of the big play threat money wise he wasnt worth keeping at his current production. Now down the road that could easily change and honestly I feel like it will. But who knows and what have you done for me lately? I liked kb as a player, and im not a fan of hurney but after Steves response it does make more sense now.

LOL

Then why did we never use a first round pick on a WR while Steve was here?

Why did Gettleman feel the need to cut Steve before drafting one?

Jeremy, and other people in the know, will back me up on this

ask hurney why we never spent a first rounder, or DG. that's there fault, the notion that we strayed away from picking a wr in the 1st to appease smith is ridiculous,.

and what kind of questions is that? why did he feel the need to let norman go before drafting 3 cb's? he damn near no choice but to draft a wr in the 1st, you know since he let go damn near every wr on the roster from 2013.  Again this notion that smith was this damn disruptive is absurd, if everything you claim is true he would have been cut or traded years ago

^ this is it right here.  NFL is a business after all.  When you compare KB and Funch's production this year, is it really that evident that KB is the superior player?  I don't really think so.  Not to mention KB will be 27 in February and has torn an ACL already and Funch just turned 23 is May.

Edit: Also, I would prefer to be able to keep Norwell and Star over KB.

We’re about to find out. Shula’s excuses are running out.

damn what if this is Marty's attempt to force Ron's hand? Would we all be okay with this if it ends up finally getting Mike Shula fired? I honestly might. yeah it sucks to lose KB but if in losing him, we are finally rid of Shula, bruh i take that deal every day.

Hello

Hey Mike, it's Ron. Listen, if I see KB and Funchess on the field together you are fuggin fired. Good talk.

Click.

Problem solved without hurting depth a great deal.

Marty may have known Ron wasnt going to do this... just saying. i hate Marty Hurney as much as the next guy but he did say that he's "learned" stuff since the last time he was a GM.

not disputing him being difficult, but there's some exaggeration when it comes to how difficult smith was

At the scouting combine, Funch ran a 4.70. After that, he ran a 40 at his pro day and got a 4.48 so my comparison of b.marsh and alshon to benji and funch works.

Tell the whole truth not just the part that helps your bias.

Benjamin 4.53 on his unofficial run, and there have been events where he ran sub 4.46-4.49.  He's just as fast and has contributed 100 times more than Funchess. Like Igo said in one post,  the game Benji went out we scored 3 points,... where was Fun Fun then?

i have never seen Funchess run faster,.. and he can't block ME and I'm 5 foot nothing, 100 and nothing and over 40 ha. We'll barely 100 and nothing, sometimes over 200 fat ha.

the eye test is what matters, and we all have to suck it up or not watch football, but Kelvin is the better player,... will be at 3000 yards and 25 touchdowns his 1st 3 playing years and that receiver you do pay 8.5 million for.

Jesus people,..

Well yea....regardless of what routes they CAN run, ultimately it's Shula designing the plays and putting specific personnel on the field for any given instance.  It literally has nothing to do with what the can and can't run, if anybody believes that poo,  you're a fuging dumbass. It's Shula from.beginning to end, the only thing they do is run what they're told to run

No way in fuging hell Fun ran a 4.4. Dude can't get separation from a refrigerator, natural 4.4 speed would create separation in and out of his breaks and especially on deep balls, which he can't do any of
