Star/Norwell > KB

It ain't even about the money man.  And if the decision was made to move on from him you don't do it mid season when there is absolutely no reason to.

Use his services this season and move on.  Draft his replacement in the next draft if that's what you want.  Has nothing to do with Star or Norwell.

Problem is Hurney tipped his hand for the draft by cutting KB now.  Good luck trying to trade around the draft board looking for a #1 wr and not getting raped.

Typical Hurney move.

We don't have an identity of a running team. We have the delusion of being a running team. Our identity is more closely aligned as a gaggle of fugtards.

I’m tired of relating it but ....

Yet we  still call for run plays on a consistent basis, the running game want be to the Panthers standard until Olsen returns.

Panthers need to draft Fumagali and Chubb

Signing Star is basically swallowing the bullet on Butler being a gigantic bust.

And in what universe is Norwell better or more important than KB. Norwell is a nobody that can’t block his way out of a paper bag

I think Norwell is definitely a serviceable guard in the NFL, but he is by no means an elite talent. Everyone on this board realizes that our run game has been poor this season. While getting Olsen back will help some, we can't expect his return is going to help our interior run blocking. The interior line just isn't getting any movement or creating any holes up front.

I don't see how anyone can expect for our running game to improve if we bring back all 3 starting interior linemen. Trai just got a new deal so we know he's coming back. Ryan is breaking down due to age and injury. We need to seriously consider finding a replacement in the near future, possibly even next year. Norwell hasn't shown enough to warrant a big deal this year. If anything, he has shown that we need an upgrade at the position if we want to build the offense around a strong running game.

    • I just switched to prime video with fanduel south. Will I be able to watch the Canes playoff games still?
    • I mean, you can use that "logic," but the problem is that most practice squad players, backups or average guys don't put the play on film that Wharton did when given their opportunities.  Perhaps you'll end up right, but I don't think that just because a guy has been in a rotation makes him inherently less productive because he gets more snaps. I will say that the KC fans I've seen on social media loved him, and considered him their second best DT,  regardless of his "rotational" status, and generally considered him a dawg, so I'm going to give him the benefit of doubt until he shows otherwise.
    • Did I miss something?  The people we have developing players now are not the ones we've had in the past so I don't know what the heck people are talking about when they say we are not good at developing players right now.  We only have one year to go on.  Canales likes young players or players who are on an upward trajectory, especially in FA this year.  Past QB's and what he's done with Bryce are good examples. Tershawn Wharton - 26 Tre'von Moehrig - 25 Pat Jones II - 26 Bobby Brown III - 24 Michael Jackson - 28 Jaycee Horn - 25 Tommy Tremble - 24 We missed on Milton Williams but he's 26. Everyone else we picked up are on 1 year deals.  The Panthers new front office and Canales absolutely scream developmental team. Pick 8 (stay) Tier 1 Elite - Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter and Mason Graham Tier 2 Elite - Jalon Walker, Mykel Williams, Will Johnson Trade down: There are quite a few really good players that fit us at Edge, DT, S and WR mid to late 1st and high 2nd.  Some combos that would be possible that I really like.  Imagine getting 2 of these guys by trading down. Stark, Pierce Jr, Golden, Scourton, Grant, Emmanwori, Ezeiruaku, Umanmielen, Deone Walker, Harmon and this is just off the top of my head.
