Would you feel better if Boldin was included in the deal.

Rumor was Boldin was thinking of coming out of retirement and a potential trade candidate for teams. He is on a one year deal so his cap implications wouldn’t matter. I know people on this site bring him up every time he is available.

He would have been a nice vet presence which is I guess what Cotchery’s roll is as a coach. (Our WR core is crazy young now.) but I don’t think he would have seen the field after not playing football for over a month.

I am not overly mad about the trade because I don’t think we were planning or resigning KB anyway which is why I was surprised when we picked up his option. Not bringing in another WR is my biggest gripe since we are a game out of the division lead with half a season left.

    • I find it more like now that I have been forced to watch Young so much it isn’t as much of a shock to my senses.   Desensitized they call it.   For real, it just looks normal almost now. Where the first game of 2023 I wasn’t sure what I was looking at it was so out of bounds for NFL type play. I literally couldn’t make sense of what I had seen vs Atlanta that first week.
    • Lynch in SF. Great is subjective but he has done pretty well there.
    • Sure, except Stroud has the ability to stretch the field with deep passes. He did that often last night with ease, but couldn’t connect on many due to being flustered by the defense. BY9 gets flustered and can’t throw screens, let alone even think about any deeper passes. Stroud would’ve changed the franchise and done more with the situation last year. My thought at least.    the hope is that last year showed tepper that he needed to step back from football decisions. There’s a positive in most situations and maybe we’ll see a new tepper in the near future.
