I work with several people who are close friends with Fox. I asked them about this. They said it is complete BS.

Fox's attitude and demeanor is that he knows his job is in jeopardy IF they continue to play like they are. The NFL is a business and you have to deliver results to continue to be employed.

He has not mailed this season in. He just knows that if they do not turn this season around his time here is done. It does not take some great insight to understand this.
