Are the Panthers on their way to being the new 49ers?

I worry the Panthers are becoming the next 49ers. A team that was once one of the best managed organizations in football, driven into the ground by horrible ownership. This season is becoming eerily similar to the 49ers 2014 season. 

Firing Dave Gettleman signaled a new, or maybe old, era for the Carolina Panthers. An era marked by poor drafts, insane contracts doled out to mediocre and aging veterans, and a lot of losing seasons. Gettleman was known to have a brash personality, that didn't jive with Jerry Richardson. There are other rumors that Gettleman disobeyed Richardson at some point and that lead to his dismissal. Either way, Gettleman was someone who knew how to win. And he did. Letting him go was a head-scratching move.

And today, trading away Kelvin Benjamin, a friend of QB Cam Newton and one of the few legit touchdown threats on the team, may mark the beginning of another new era. One where the Panthers slowly get rid of every talented player they have left on their roster, until the only two recognizable faces are Cam Newton and Luke Kuechly, the latter of which might be heading for an early retirement. Could Hurney be ready to jettison Gettleman's draft picks - fire sale, incoming?

Either way, this isn't a good sign.

What organization fires someone, fires their replacement, then rehires the person originally replaced? Its like we decided to rebuild just for fun...midseason....when we were in the playoff hunt. Im gonna be drinking tonight.

i think it's time to just come to the realization that 2015 was an anomaly, and not the result of brilliant management.

The Carolina Panthers are in a perfect location physically. Even down to the stadium being located in uptown Charlotte. It's just the ownership and management can't sustain a winning product. It all goes back to the shield on the 50 yard line. Like the other owners and JR having meetings on who's going to be in the best position to win so that they ALL can benefit financially. Got to be because it's obvious that Jerry Richardson could care less if the Panthers ever win a superbowl or not. It's the NFL($$$$$$$$) first for him.
