First, take emotion out of the equation…like that will happen around here, but try it anyway.
Second, Benjamin was traded. He’s gone. We needed a WR…NOW.bArgue about the merits of trade separately because none of that addresses the issue at hand. We needed a WR, not mecessarily a 1, 2, or even 3, but, see below for what we needed…now.
Third, the trade deadline has passed. How many FA guys are sitting around waiting on a call?
Four, if you find one, how long before he knows the routes and becomes productive?
Five, although they’re rookies, we have some good speed on the roster already.
Six, the replacement needs to not only know the routes, but be able to run them…well.
Seven, the replacement needs to be able to catch in traffic, especially in the RZ.
Eight, the replacement has to have sticky hands, a great target/reception ratio.
Nine, the replacement needs to be clutch on third downs.
Ten, Cam needs someone he can trust to be where he needs to be, and have a great rapport with.

Who was out there that can check all the boxes right now, preferably at low cost?

Answer, the same guy I said was available yesterday about an hour after the trade was announced.
