Here's my dream scenario...

Trade #1

Funchess to Detroit for Eric Ebron and a 4th round pick in 2018.

Trade #2

Detroit's 4th round pick in 2018 and Carolina's 5th round pick in 2018 for CB Davis and WR Hilton from Indy. 

Trade #3

Carolina 3rd round pick in 2018 for Jarvis Landry.

Trade #4

Kelvin Benjamin to Jacksonville for a future pick or 2.

Landry/Hilton/Ebron is a hell of an upgrade over KB/Funch. And we get a starting caliber CB in the process.

If only this were Madden, or we had a competent GM...

Dude, Ebron is hot garbage. I think he has more drops than catches this year.

This is what you do in the offseason, when you have minicamps and training camp for everyone to learn the offense and get their timing down.

Panthers are 5-3 with a top 3 defense.  We've got 2 rookies playing a lot of snaps on the offense that should improve as they continue to get more comfortable.  The league is wide open this year.  We've proven we can hang with anyone.  I say we run with what we got.

Why? Ebron is a bust and we'd be on the hook for his $5M+ contract and cap hit next season. Detroit would probably be willing to just about give him away for free if they could get out of that deal. They're having major buyer's remorse on picking up that 5th year option.

We're not going to be able to fit both Davis and Hilton under the cap. That'd be over $20M in cap space for this season. Why would we want Davis anyway? No way we're getting Hilton for a 4th and a 5th. Zero chance of that.

Yeah, I'd do that in a heartbeat.

Trade #4

What's that future pick? I'm not sure KB is in our future plans so I wouldn't be completely opposed to dealing him, but I'd also be very wary of the potential lockerroom impact of dealing him mid-season. Probably wouldn't do it.

Yep, free agent after this season. Trades involving these types of players almost always include the player working out a contract with the new team prior to the trade going through. Not sure if that's technically legal under the CBA, but that's basically what happens every time.

Agreed...especially when that guy is going to command 12-14 million next season.  I would rather have Bryant over Landry...at least Bryant is cheap for the next 2.5 years.
