Trade deadline thread

SuperBowlBound

If Super Bowl is the goal, and that's all we seem to hear from the organization, then you have to realize this team is missing pieces from being able to get there, and you have to go get those pieces.

At this point, I would trade a future 1st for a true starting CB across from Bradberry. Or a true starting Safety next to Coleman. Or a legit LT and let Kalil shift to the right side. Or a true #1 WR who can push Kelvin and Funchess to play up or sit out. Any of those things, or all of them at once, I would trade the future for them. This team has a window that is shutting, and will be closed in 3 years. There are some nice future pieces alresdy on the roster. If you think the 2018 draft is going to help you win a Super bowl during Cam's time here more than some legit starters today, then I have no faith you can run this team successfully. Go get the players who can help win today, this year, and next year.

Then you worry about the draft while kissing your ring. If there was ever a time for this franchise to be bold, make strong moves to improve, and go deep in the playoffs, this is that time.

Hilton, a LT, and a secondary player who are legit starters. Give up picks in 18 and 19 to get it done.

The ONLY way I see the other side of the coin in not trading for help now, is if the organization is looking to completely reset, fire the coaches and hire a new GM, trade Cam and have a fire sale of Olsen, Kalil, Stewart, KK, Star, CJ, Coleman, Funch, KB, etc....

And just stockpile picks with a new GM, new coach, new QB, new OL...And run with CMC and Samuel as the main weapons in a dink and dunk scheme, with Bradberry, Luke, Shaq, Butler, etc as the main defensive pieces to build around.

If that is not the plan, then make the moves today.

If neither, then this franchise is content to be mediocre and not win championships.

Ty Hilton is the most realistic trade, this is going to help the offense as a whole, run game, passing game etc. giving a 2-3rd rounder for him is money imo.

Martavis is a second option but his attitude may not be worth the risk.

neither will happen because again this team has no clear direction, and hasn't since 2013

Panthers should be on the phone with the Colts for either Hilton or Davis.  Worley is clearly not getting the job done, and while Vontae isn’t the lock down Cb he used to be, he’s still a very solid CB2, and can be had for cheap being he’s a FA at years end.  Hilton is self explanatory.  Perfect offensive fit..

Hey, going all-in for a Super Bowl run sure worked well for the Giants last year, right?

I mean heck, we've got Marty Hurney managing our cap again. He's certainly not afraid to splurge for big contracts.

What could possibly go wrong?

Bad comparison. Our franchise QB isnt a fossil and our entire offense isnt centered around a wide receiver. Even before OBJ got hurt their offense was way more one dimensional than ours

The Giants have an aging franchise QB. They knew their window was rapidly closing. It slammed shut this year.

Man it would be a dream come true if we made a move for T.Y. Hilton.  I don't see the Cap space as a big issue, since KB is on his 5th year option at over 10 million a year this season.  We could part ways with KB after this season and make T.Y. our number 1...an instant upgrade.
