interesting that Crown Town has more signatures than most every other city. Including NYC and LA. Seattle is in the lead by far, but i think Charlotte is top 3-5. I hope soccer haters dont try and deep six this thing. World Cup back in the US would be huge. We still own the largest attendance in WC history from back in '94, and we've come a logn way since then.

Just think of all the hot foreign wimmins if you hate soccer.

It'd be a big thing for Charlotte, would bring a ton of money in and help us get recognition internationally. Sometimes I think the national media likes to put the screws to us.

Charlotte has one of the premier bids in the US when all factors are weighed equally. The stadium is great, fits a WC sized field perfectly and it has good sightlines. It's uptown so it's accessible by rail. Also, UNCC, Davidson, Wingate, and the new stadium in Matthews are great training venues.

Its going to be played in more than one city isnt it? Just the final round will be in one city.

Right. So many round robins before the knockout rounds will require multiple venues.

The final will either be the Cowboy's new stadium or LA Coliseum or Rose Bowl.

I would prefer knockout round simply for the quality and round robin is the quantity.

    • I find it interesting that TMac was shown here practicing without gloves.  Is that a new approach to improving hands because the gloves are so sticky?   If you think about the draft and evaluated the talent at each position and rate them by round, you see what the Panthers did--get the best WR in the draft.  in round 2, you had WRs like Bech and Tre Harris going--meanwhile, the Panthers grabbed Scourton (late first round grade) and Princely (expected to be drafted in the middle of the second round).   Bech and Harris were projected to be third rounders.   If you evaluate the draft by your expectations of the performance of the talent, you are guessing and trying for clicks.  However, if you understand the depth of talent at each position and align that with needs,  the strategy becomes the issue--not a subjective guess.  Did the Panthers address WR and Edge wisely, considering the players likely to be available?  Yes.   Ask yourself this:  In the Panther system, is it possible that Scourton would be a better edge than Walker?  I think he is a better fit.  Princely?  Better fit.   Morgan had an excellent draft.  When you see Ransom play S, you will be convinced that it was a Home Run.  That pick was solid and he will be here for a long time.
    • Wasn't sure where to put this; can't start a new thread.  Anyone paying attention to the CWS?  Tarheels cruise in first two games, set up regional championship with fully rested bullpen and tons of momentum.   On the road to Omaha!
    • Or it could be because we are building a pretty good team that is going to compete.  But I expect us to win the division this year.
