As far as Harrison Butker goes; Hurney tried to keep him but you all killed him for carrying 2 kickers on our opening week roster.

 

If anything people should blame Rivera. I'm sure he's the reason that Gano "won" the kicking job. Hurney did try to keep Butker, even to go as far as keeping him on the roster as a backup, but after injuries in the secondary he had to be moved.

Gettleman wouldn't have kept Gano over Butker regardless of what Ron thought. Hurney is a yes man. It's ok to admit when Hurney does something wrong. Gettleman did plenty wrong, but drafting Butker to replace Gano wasn't one of them.

Remember when Hurney said he wasn’t going to be emotional in his decision making the second time around?

the cold hard facts suggest this kicker was really really bad. There’s nothing objective about this signing. It’s a project, repair job

 this move screams ineptitude on hurney’s part since Butker was a draft pick and we cut him. Butker is a stud and this GM couldn’t recognize that.
