Has he really gone on record with that, or are we just all using the past to expect this?

I can't recall.

well i think he said when Fox was head coach that he would not fire a coach under contract.  not sure if that means just then or forever.  i think he doesnt like wasting money.  but yeah not sure if its an asumption or fact either.

No owner in his right mind would say "if we don't finish 9-7, my coach is fired". Owners are universally successful people precisely because the don't box themselves in with this king of silliness. What happens if a team goes 8-8, but finishes 8-0 and is winning in dominant fashion? You fire the coach, right? Of course you don't.

That's a good point, but if we were 8-4 or 9-3, then lost our last 4, Richardson might pull the plug.  Richardson knows he's running out of years and he kind of went all in this year.

believe what you want, but it happens. coaches get fired regularly or, like what happened with fox, we just let the contract expire without renewing it. JR sent the message to fox that if he wasn't able to have back to back winning seasons, then his contract would not be renewed. what about the two HCs before fox? dom capers....fired after two losing seasons. and george seifert? fired after three years.

silliness, right?

and that's just us. it happens all the time in many industries by many successful businesses. the best teams and businesses will have the highest expectations and if those high expectations aren't met...you find someone who can help you meet them.

Offense wasn't bad vs pats and lions hell wasn't bad vs the Eagles .  Last game was a momentum killer and just plain bad luck . We were driving on them but we need to score . Refs hurt us a lot . We have a good offense just need to stop making mistakes it's not on Rivera or Shula

it's their job to make sure that the players are doing their job. if the players can't handle what they are being asked to do, you either find a way to help them do it or find something that they can do. it's up to the coaches to make sure that the players are on the right page, are prepared, and can execute. that's their job. and the refs didn't mess things up for us this past game. are you serious?

anyway....you didn't answer the question. where do you draw the line? at what point do you decide to move on from rivera? or from shula?

Ron Rivera is a horrible NFL head coach because time and time again he makes the wrong decision when the game is on the line. Mike Shula needs to go because the plays that he designed doesn't fit with the personal that we have. And his play calling sinks. They both should've been fired along time ago.

Fox knew he was done before week 1.  Rivera ain’t in Foxland yet.

peope act like we are in a bad spot.  This is actually a good spot based on Rivera’s history.

exactly, he has this season and next on his contract, correct? we all know JR won't leave money on the table. Next season could very well be a lame duck season, again.

    • yeah. winter backpacking trips were the most miserable and amazing experiences. same with the coldest and snowiest hunting  experiences. i love being in it. makes for incredible memories. the worse it was, the more i ended up loving it. made the greatest memories.  i just want to get out of it afterwards.
    • I forgot about Jackson...definitely elite.  The sad part of your list is that 2 of them were 'there for the taking for the Panthers'.  Rumor has it that Hurney loved Herbert and was vetoed on trying to trade up.  And rumor has it that Frank & McCown wanted Stroud.  I believe both rumors.
    • I went on a solo elk hunt in the Flat Tops. It was awesomely miserable. LOL It was a late season hunt, I think third season and it was forecasted to snap off cold with highs in the upper thirties and lows in the single digits. fug it, I'm going anyway. They were wrong. The highs were in the low 20s and the lows were in the negative teens. I shivered so hard the first night I thought my teeth were going to break. It was the only time I've ever been legit concerned that I might be in trouble. Crawled out of my sleeping bag and got a fire started and suffered through the night bundled up next to the fire. I slept the next two nights literally wearing every stitch of clothing I'd brought with Nalgenes full of near boiling water in the bottom of my sleeping bag. That was the only way to have non-frozen water in the morning anyway. There was about a foot of snow on the ground and the melt/freeze crust was almost enough to support your weight but you'd go crashing through just as you went or make your step. It was exhausting travel and every step sounded like a rifle shot. Hunting was basically impossible. I never saw an elk in those four days, only saw 5-6 deer. LOL It was brutal but I loved it. Absolutely beautiful country that is never been to before and haven't been back since. I needed that four day complete break from society fighting for my life against the elements. I'm weird like that.
