I may be wrong but didn't JR get rid of Fox due to lack of back to back winning seasons?

Fox knew he was done before week 1.  Rivera ain’t in Foxland yet.

peope act like we are in a bad spot.  This is actually a good spot based on Rivera’s history.

If this was to play out like Fox then next year would be his "lame duck" year.  JR has gone on record saying he doesnt want to let go of a coach before his contract is up.  Just like Fox's last year here, everyone knew after the previous season had ended that the next year was it for Fox.  What happened? We ended up with the number 1 pick.  I really hope JR has learned from this and is willing to cut ties with his head coach before his contract is up.  I dont think I can make it through another "lame duck" year

JR didn't really "get rid of" Fox at all. He just let his contract run out without renewing it.

Rivera's contract runs at least two more seasons.

Has he really gone on record with that, or are we just all using the past to expect this?

I can't recall.

10-6 probably gets us in the playoffs this year.  I'd be shocked if you fire a coach with a 63-48 lifetime record making the playoffs 4 of the last 5 years.  If he wins a playoff game he gets a 3-year extension, otherwise he gets a 2-year extension.

8,9, or 10 wins but no playoffs gets him no extension and a lame duck year.

a losing season, and I think he is toast.

I'm leaning towards they get at least 1 more year no matter what, unless we  go 4-12 or 5-11. A worse performance than last year would most certainly get them canned pretty quick. But anything around 7-9 or better and it gets into the murky territory of them getting one last season to turn things around.

    • For the silly people that worship her it will be that.  The Coleman 'legend' thing, they did that with another fairly average player that was here and I sort of mocked or questioned the 'legend' status. Instantly caught crap for insulting someone's favorite Panther. So okay, Kurt Coleman is a Legend.
    • You allow him to compete--you all are talking as if I am proposing making him the starter. Give him a new coach, new weapons, good OL, etc. and see what happens. You are saying, "Well Damn.  It did not work for 3 guys..."  Right now, our C is injured, we lost our top 2 WRs.  Better question:  If you need a QB, Why would you not take a chance on bringing in a QB who was a former first rounder, a good arm, intelligence, mobility, youth, etc.  and see how he does out of NY--with a better OL, better running game, better receivers.  I am not saying give him a 10-year contract, I am saying give him a chance. You act like there is no improvement on offense here--it was a 2 year process, and next year is year 2.  To me, how can you sit there with Bryce and an opportunity to sign a veteran QB on the cheap comes available and you say--"Not us. We're good.  We are waiting for Patrick Mahommes."  Jone's problem is obviously mental--and he has little support.  Why is this so frigging hard to comprehend.  It is called "bottom fishing" and it is better than sitting in the boat.
    • I think we're going to fall from behind quite early and be forced to abandon the run game.  3 rushes -2 yards 1 catch -10 yards
