If he had an eye for talent he would have taken him in the 1st or 2nd.  That's like saying Bill Belichick has an eye for talent because they drafted Brady in the 6th....that's called luck.

Also, CMC didn't just work from the slot like you are claiming, he worked out as both a WR and RB.

As to Hurney's problems, you haven't been around here long enough to really remember where he fugs up and where he just merely muddies the water.

What you say doesn't make any sense and that's not how you draft. How is it luck to draft a player on your board? It's about VALUE in the draft.

Nobody knew Brady would be Brady and the reason Brady even is Brady is because of Billicheat...they didn't miss that much of a beat with Jimmy Grappalo or even Matt Cassel. Captain Munnerlyn in the 7th round in 09, Norman in the 5th round of 2012...those are value picks that really worked out. Gettleman didn't have that eye for talent in the later rounds at all.

Also your wrong at the Stanford Pro Day he went through WR drills and Kickoffs/Punts. And he spent time with Brandon Stokley (a slot WR by the way) to "to learn about the intricacies of the slot receiver position" .

And you really  don't know how long I've been around.

This team doesn't have the grape fruits to make a trade.

Carlos Hyde

Jarvis Landry

Cordy Glenn

Morris Claiborne

Eric Reid

Jeremy Hill

Joe Staley

Any of these players would help immediately

cordy glenn and staley would fix this line

Why would we be in the market for a trade when the answer is on the roster?!?!?!

All jokes aside, Ward is very unhappy in Tampa and has made his gripes public...could be an opportunity for a safety upgrade/depth. Otherwise, I think another DE would be the only realistic option. Given the cap situation + Moton as depth, I doubt a move is made to address the O-line.

screw ward he had a chance to play for us and chose tampa , hes overrated as well

we lost a 4th rd pick and paid him what we could have gave nortman to stay , gettleman was a terrible gm, but the fan boys loved him even when he was worse then hurney

Gettleman wasn't worse than hurney. They both suck though and we need some new leadership

I did use google old wise one and guess what? Hardy was a SIXTH round draft pick...further proving my point Hurney has a incredible eye for talent. His problem was overpaying players

McCaffery 8th or 9th overall whatever way too high for a RB that worked from the slot at his workout and put up 225 on the bench press only ten times.

An incredible eye for talent. Lolz

Only problem is Glenn's contract is expensive and the 9ers want a 1st round for Staley.

Only problem with that...your boy Hurney screwed the pooch and didn't draft Glenn when given the chance...some eye for talent.

Did he bench at Stanford's Pro Day?
