If we win the next two games

You will from me. I'm super pissed right now, but I was after the Saints game too. I said then that this was a gut check moment. We'll either emerge from this guns blazing and show that it was just a bad day and give NE a helluva game in Foxboro or we'll completely derail. The same is true now. We have had yet another horrific performance. The Eagles game? Yeah, we didn't play great but we were competitive against a very good team. That Bears game was an utter debacle coming off of a mini-bye. That was a truly terrible performance. Let's see how we respond. Let's see if this team has quit in the staff.

I'm not holding my breath, but I'm hoping I'm wrong.

Basically this.

I am about as dejected by this whole thing as I can be after Sunday, but we are in good position if you look purely at standings and the NFC as a whole.

It's when you start to peel back the layers you find we are in a hot mess right now.

Will we get some positive reactions around here?

The Panthers have an underperforming offensive line

no matter the cause, until that is fixed the odds of winning many games is very very low

the Bucs have won two out of the last three games against the Panthers.

I expect that to continue this weekend

After going to the super bowl and seeing what Cam is capable of when he's at his best, it's hard for me to get excited over a season when we're not a legit contender.

Going from 15-1 to 6-10 is a drop off that was completely unacceptable...Big Cat should have canned Gettleman immediately after the season.

Of course, overreaction goes both ways. You'll see a lot of threads like "Time to eat crow all you Shula haters" where the panthers winning two games makes up for a lifetime of shitty playcalling.

truer words have never been spoken

    • Hope Koch recovers (he’s stated numerous times he doesn’t like to be called “koochie”) soon. But he does not instill confidence in the crease. I don’t have any confidence in any of our goalies, healthy or not. Andersen when available gives us the best chance to win but he’s never available.    Team has to explore trade options soon.
    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
