A far fetched theory to add to the pile

Does anyone think it’s possible JR already told Ron and co. that they’re gone after the season and the new GM is going to pick his own coach? I know others have observed it looks like Ron is mailing in this season, could this be why?  I don’t actually believe this to be the case for the record, but I do believe it’s within the realm of possibility.

I'd like to think that Ron would be playing with a little more guts and urgency if that was case...since his next job would be dependent on his performance this season.

If that is the case that would prove how terrible ron is as a head coach. Wouldn't that light a fire in you and make you want to prove JR wrong and show to a new employer how good a coach you are?

It would be conceivable if there was an actual GM search going on.

So not only does good ol JR cause a huge distraction firing the GM a week before camp, but essentially sabotages the whole season by telling the coaching staff this is their last season? At this point, nothing would surprise me.

It’s about as plausible as Jerry Richardson being in love with Don Shula who played for and was later head coach of his beloved Baltimore Colts thus allowing his inept son to have a job for going on a decade

Didn’t work that way for John Fox. Like I said, I don’t believe this, but it wouldn’t surprise me.

There is nothing wrong with Ron's defense. There is something wrong on offense. Losing Greg was huge but there is no excuse for the play design and blocking schemes.

Ron needs to man up and find himself a new OC. This season is what it is. Maybe some guys grow up and we get other guys back or replaced.

I doubt he would tell them that before the season is over. What if (I know it's crazy) they won the Super Bowl?

I'm not shooting you down for proposing a theory but that doesn't sound like JR at all. Hell he wouldn't even fire Fox mid season when EVERYONE knew Fox was a lame duck coach and wasn't getting reupped.
