Let's play a game called: What Players On Offense Aren't Trash?

this team is not devoid of talent. they are devoid of a run game. some here believe its scheme or play calling, which that certainly is not helping but all of those can be overridden by execution, which is totally lacking. until the run game gets going and we have a push up front, no scheme, play call or whatever will get past that.

I can tell you how to easily make the Panthers a contender.

Fire Shula, and bring in a WCO experienced coordinator. Incorporate that and some spread/option plays into our offense, and LET CAM RUN if he needs to.

Get our defensive pass coverage out of the GD zone coverage we play in 90% of the time. Let the CBs man up and lock a Safety on the TE. Let the other Safety and Luke/Shaq/TD float between zones/man coverage if they aren't in run support or blitzing. We get beat so bad by passing teams in zone seams it is sad. We've tried to compensate the past few games by blitzing damn near every down, and teams are just going to keep exposing our weakness at safety/nickel by keeping extra blockers in there and letting their WRs/TEs exploit the seams.

Boom- Panthers easily 10-6 or 11-5 playoff team with a real shot at not losing another game.

But NOOOO we're gonna keep running draws right up the gut, with a sprinkle of gimmick plays like reverses/options/bubble screens that don't work anymore and our WRs will keep running 15 yard outs or fades and Cam will keep getting crushed in the pocket and our defense will be winded and our safeties/nickel will keep getting burned because Jerry Richardson and Ron Rivera will do nothing to fix it.

While I believe that Cam is capable of running any offense, the WCO would be the worst of the bunch for him.

Just my opinion though.

We need urgency, and the ability to adjust on the fly.  Ron wants to play football "his way".  Let our guys go against your guys, and the best guy wins.....well that's stupid outdated football.

Dude, take the fuging McCaffrey avatar off. He blows gigantic dick. If he was anything close to what he was billed we wouldn't have 3 points yesterday

I'm not a fan of poo, or emojis in general, but your posts are starting to alter my entire outlook. Poo has its merits. Have some!

This coaching staff has talked about the lack of execution far too long.  If the coaches can't put the players in the correct situation to execute, then it's they who are the problem.

Cam. CMC.  Turner. Olsen.

KB and Fun aren't trash....but neither is very well rounded and both predictably threaten opponents.

Everyone else is pretty replaceable IMO

Big picture, Cam and Olsen don't have tons longevity to them IMO of being top tier players.  I'm putting the RB age rule on Cam.  Once he hits 30....he goes from one man video game with HOF type production to JAG.

agree but our o line is constantly being pushed in the backfield on run plays, that is execution. this is the a lot of the same line that has had success running the ball.

another thing I have thought of that may have to do with them being pushed back but not sure how valid it is that our snap is usually right after "readddyyyyyy"...... its easier for the dlineman to get initial push whereas 2015 was full of mixed snap counts.

Do you think the line has forgotten how to run block?  I don't.  So it's either scheme, or predictability...both coaching issues.

When running the play clock to 0, who do you think is responsible for that?  The coaches have the ability to speed up their end of this issue as well.

Get the play call to Cam, then hold him responsible if the clock is consistently ticking to 0, giving the d line a jump.

Competent OC's even with the slowest receivers in the league can scheme to get players open quickly. You see it all the time even on bottom feeders of the leauge. Shula is 100% failure in all aspects of scheming and adjusting. He is also the most stubborn OC ever too and never tries to negate our weaknesses, he doubles down on them and just says we need better execution. (Well Rivera says that, but they are on the same page)

Name me ONE fuggin weapon besides Todd Gurley on the Rams offense. They have almost the same offensive roster as last year, yet are sitting at #1 scoring offense after looking like absolute TRASH last year. Hmm, I wonder why? What's the variable that changed? Oh yeah....................Jeff fuggin Fisher replaced with Sean McVay.

You people really underestimate how important scheme and play design is. Shula could have the Chiefs weapons and we STILL would struggle, just like he has his whole career. I encourage you to go look at old alabama forum posts about Shula. SAME complaints as today. Go and talk to Bucs fans about Shula. SAME complaints as today. When EVERYWHERE you go people are complaining about the same things about you, you might just be horrible at your job.

Cam is a unique player.  He is special because of that.  He can't be the Cam now at 35.   Wasn't he isn't special?  He will just be an average QB.  Just an unpleasant reality.

I wanted us to draft Cam WAY before 90% of this board.  I am a huge Cam fan..  I never once though he would have a long career of exceptional play.  Way I have always been so ticked Carolina has failed to put a decent O around him year after year.   Wasting Cam's golden window.

I'll give Cam until his early 30s.   He ain't going to put in a Brady, Manning, Favre type career in terms of longevity.  His game won't allow it.  He also isn't suddenly going to turn into this HOF pure pocket passer in his 30s.

Sammy Watkins.   He alters a defensive scheme simply being on the field all game.

Cam can play as long as Brady, Manning, Favre because his body is way, way, superior than these pasty white boys. Facts.
