Rivera says that he is concerned they may be asking too much too soon from Samuel.  Is it too much to ask that in the seventh game of the season that a skill player handle a pitch.  He's a professional WR, for crying outloud.  It wasn't like he was asked to catch a ball in triple coverage or kick a game winning 55 yard field goal.  Sheesh.

 

If Rivera is simply trying to protect his player then he really needs to find a better way of wording it than that.

it seems like every year there's a team in the league that just plugs in some small fast rookie and he's an automatic impact player.  tyreek hill, tarik cohen, etc.  we've had like ten of those guys (joe adams, kenjon barner, pilares, now samuel) and it just never seems to click.
