I get it with the staff, and I completely agree.  Just don't forget that we went 15-1 in spite of them 2 years ago.

I'm all for firing Shula and Rivera, but this season still has hope with or without them.

Let's wait until we get through these next two games to throw in the towel just yet.  Hopefully we are singing a different tune next Sunday night

Oh I'm not throwing in the towel or even saying we won't end up in the playoffs but I think 2 years ago was the "a broken clock is right at least twice a day" theory.

and no another TE won't fix it Sanjay why do you not comprehend that?

Their Qb threw the ball 7 times and we still lost. I couldn't even tell you the last time that happened in the modern NFL

That was one of the most embarrassing losses in team history. There's no sugar coating this poo. We had the ball on offense for 40 minutes and scored 3 fuging points. A loss like this gets someone fired on most NFL teams.

It was 2007 or something. The Panthers were the winning team and the winning coach was John Fox.

Its mike shula folks. The plays designed aren't fitting the receivers and our team is a running team that can pass not a team that is a padding team that can run. But passing attack is not shulas forte. The oline is banged up and we aren't opening holes. Wilks though had this defense playing right. Hats off to him but offensively we look like garbage. Shula must go or oline must step it up in the running game. That's the only two options. We got to make choices quick before we see our season go 4-1 to 6-10.

@CHI, PHI, @DET, @NE

I think if I had told you after the loss the Saints, the Panthers would go 2-2 over that stretch, many of you would have taken it.

It's easy to think how things are today is how they will always be, but that's almost never the case. You won't have a real sense of the teams until Thanksgiving, but this year looks like whatever team gets hot in December could win it all like the Giants in 07.

This is not to say everything is okie dokie. The offense has to find a way to be more productive.

Just because we lost because of turnovers doesn't mean we were the better team.

We LEAD THE LEAGUE in negative turnover differential with the Browns.  Out of 32 teams, we are tied for the worst of them in giving up the ball but not getting the ball.  It isn't a fluke; this team is careless with the ball.  Our starting QB has more turnovers than touchdowns.

7 games in, this is a firmly established identity: You can expect the panthers to average close to 2 giveaways per game.

Winning 10-12 games isn't very realistic with our defense not being able to force TO's(people seem to forget that we forced 46 TO's in 2015), our offense being erratic(at best) and key injuries starting to pile up. It's easy to say "oh we have an easy schedule remaining" but we also just faced one of the worst teams in the NFL and lost comfortably.

Speaking of TO's, we currently sit at -9 in turnover margin which puts us at a tie for 30th in the league. In fact, we are the only team in that bottom five group with a winning record. Also...Chicago is in that group.

my perspective is I've seen Rivera's teams when they're in a spiral and it all looks the same.

Cue wacky poo and epic failures that usually happen very early. You know once this team gets down by 14 they're pretty much fuged. What's the Cam/Rivera record on comebacks? You know what separates the great teams and not just the teams that flash every other year? They weather the bullshit. This team can win some tight games and get a big lead and hang on. They've never proven to me that they can make it a tale of two halves and change the tide. That's a lot on coaching, a lot on the playmakers out there and then some luck.

they were the experienced team with 10 days rest. Totally pathetic.

I mean in all honesty we'd be talking a whole different game had it not been for the fluky turnovers. Bad luck happens, but overall the team performed nicely.

The defense was dominant again. Three games this year they've shut down offenses to score 3 or less points.

Fix up mistakes, and we can push through in this league.

Of course, coaching is always going to be the main factor that could tip us either way.

Good teams recover from their own self inflected BAD plays, these were not FLUKE plays, they were BAD plays by pro players

These were fundamental protect the ball plays helped along with a poor offensive scheme and lack of focus from pro players and coaches making millions of dollars

We have seen this show from Rivera coach teams before but the ineptitude of this staff and this team is maddening

FWIW:

2017 (4-3 record)

TO's/game forced: 0.86
TO's/game:        2.14

2016 (6-10 record)

TO's/game forced: 2.19
TO's/game:        1.75

2015 (15-1 record)

TO's/game forced: 2.88
TO's/game:        1.06

2014 (7-8-1 record)

TO's/game forced: 2.25
TO's/game:       1.75

2013 (12-4 record)

TO's/game forced: 1.94
TO's/game:       1.19

We are currently on pace to have the lowest forced turnovers in team history.

    • I didn't say much bigger. Watch the highlights I linked. Bryce doesn't have the arm strength and/or talent to make the vast majority of the throws Mac made in that video.
    • Tetairoa McMillan.   The last 28 1st overall picks were either a QB, DE, or OT. Seeing as I don't think we'd take an OT in the 1st and give up on Ickey as an LT yet and there doesn't seem to be a clear overall #1 type of QB or DE pick this year, it very well could be a non conventional #1 overall this year, at least in regards from the last almost 3 decades of drafts. If we didn't have Horn, I'd be more open to Hunter as a CB at #1, but we have him so another CB wouldn't be how I'd use a #1 pick.  And as much as I love Legette, if we have SB contending aspirations, I don't think Legette is a #1 on a team like that, but he damn sure is an elite #2 on a team like that.  He's more of the Smith/Higgins/Waddle to Brown/Chase/Hill (in terms of role/impact, not style of play of course). T-Mac is going to be the top ranked WR on every team's board in the end.  He is going to be a true outside #1 WR who is viewed as a consensus Top 5 WR in the game by his second contract in the same way guys like Jefferson and Chase have done.  His height combined with his speed, athleticism, and hands are near impossible to find all in one player, there is a reason his generally used comp is Mike Evans (although as he's not as thick, I personally see him more as an AJ Green). Yes, as an Arizona alum I've admitted to having bias towards the player to begin with.  But he's also someone very widely being put into the Top 5 in mock drafts lately and most of them have him as the first non QB offensive player being taken, so it's not really THAT much of a homer pick on my part anyways. If a QB or DE truly separate themselves as being a can't miss prospect come draft day, I'm open to that discussion, but until then, or if it doesn't happen, T-Mac is my pick 100 times out of 100.
