No Speed On O

McCaffrey is a bust. We can all just go ahead and admit that now. He isn't bringing what we thought he would bring on offense. He isn't this electric player who's a threat to take it to the house any given touch, like a Tarik Cohen, or Alvin Kamara have proven to be.

Funchess and Benjamin are just possession receivers, no real speed, YAC threats in them. We need a lot more of what Dickson did .. that one time, I mean two times

And yeah our workhorse RB is on his last legs. Stewarts days are about done. So, big question mark there. We don't have the horses on offense. Blame Shula but no OC would get anything outta these trash cans on offense besides Cam. What a shame to Cam.

No speed on offense. Nonnnnne. Most speed we've seen shown is Ed Dickson.

Either every player on offense are just to bad to play on any NFL team, OR Shula is a sub par offensive coordinator.

I tend to think it's the latter.

With a true #1 receiver, you know, one that can get some YAC every now and again, every other player would look a lot better

But we are terrible. Not mediocre, not middle of the pack, but down right bad on offense. One guy won't change that in this system. We drafted TWO playmakers in the first 2 rounds and they look bad. They didn't all of a sudden turn into bad players. They are being put in situations that don't fit into thier playstyle. It's the plays that are making good players look like crap.

    • Bryce put it in a spot only his guy could get it only for David Moore to drop it. T_T Tremble and Horn both struggled yesterday and that killed me since they're two of my favourite players. Tommy knows he has to come down with this one. Folks were understandably saying that JT would've caught that had he not gotten hurt a few plays earlier. The more I look at this play, the more I think that Bryce made the right decision throwing it out the back of the endzone. He could have tried to laser it in to Thielen, but that safety is lurking awfully close inside. Insuring the field goal here after a 44sec drive to end the half was the right move.
    • Except Bryce was the main reason we were in it
    • NFL Pro has the All-22 up already 😄 Going to grab a play or two from each redzone series to put screenshots to. Looks like AT angled his route off to the near pylon rather than the back corner where Bryce was throwing to. I imagine this is something they'll quickly try to figure out with Thielen back from IR. After watching the All-22 again, this was actually a pretty nifty play. I thought it was a TE screen to Tremble because of the way XL charged the DB, but he quickly shed and kept upfield as seen in the second screenshot. This looks like it had multiple layers built into it with AT running the crosser, XL the fade, Tremble to the flat. The progression would call for the play to go to Chuba here as the LB does follow Tremble out into the flat. Ball hits Chuba low and in the hands, but the LB does a good job disrupting the catch.
