God, Scott Gimple is a fugging moron. No wonder this show has turned to utter poo.

This is how he described the terrible first three episodes:

"Three unbelievably intense, unrelenting episodes [are next] that pushed the actors and the crew, and the producers, everybody," is the only hint Gimple will give.

"These next three episodes were just one thing after the other after the other. It is very, very intense. It moves very, very quickly," he said. "When I was with the mixers, we definitely were hurting our ears quite a bit just with the pounding music, and the intensity, and the walkers, and the gunfire, and the yelling. The next three episodes might be the most intense string of episodes we’ve had."

Why kill Judith now, when they have had plenty of opportunities in the past. If they go that route, it shows that the showrunners do things without any plans. Even introducing another baby at this point, one that seems pretty irrelevant even, is just crap.

  Spoiler Alert!

I think I'm gonna like Princess. She reminds me of Negan without the sadism. Did anyone else here catch that she mentioned her brother in present tense, not past, like he's still alive. Kind of odd that Eugene's group didn't take note. I even wondered if they could be setting her up as someone to attach Negan to.

a lot of LOST issue IMO show themselves in TWD.  What made LOST suck (and the first several seasons of LOST is as good as TV can get)....is LOST went into the show with no plan or map of where to go.

TWD has no clue where they are going....and when you don't have an end game in mind to build the show to you are literally just a shitty day time soap.

So even if they are following the comic....they still don't know an end game and it will always impact their story telling.  Because in a sense, they always will want to play it safe with characters and plot because they don't know where it may go.

Lost was awful from the first 15 minutes until the very end. Lost had a plan on how to end it, but then everyone guessed what it was (Limbo) and they decided to switch it up into a "shared consciousness death dream" or wtf ever.  Nothing ever mattered on Lost. The acting was insultingly bad, the quirks were forced and meaningless, it was all just stupid. It is a perfect example of The Emperor's New Clothes. They never had any intention of resolving their major arcs, or even explaining why they were arcs. Catering to Lost fans is crippling TWD.

Agree with the LOST comparison, except peak LOST is head and shoulders above peak TWD. At least LOST had characters you actually gave two poos about.

As convoluted as LOST got towards the end, it was never as poorly made all around as these last couple seasons of TWD.

reddit on gun battles:

"They've always been bad but man has it gotten worse. Youtube channels do more realistic weapons. People running around shooting full auto M14's with no recoil at people 2 feet away and missing. People using sheetmetal as cover from 7.62 nato guns. Everyone using full auto in an apocalypse. Every gun having no recoil and only sometimes have the bolt moving. No one ever reloading. Nothing about the gunplay is remotely good or realistic

Its gotten so jarring that even someone with a COD understanding of weapons would notice. A show with WD's production value should have much better weapon effects. It feels like im watching some kids grade 12 film class project, and not the second most popular show on tv. Hard to take an episode seriously when the gunfights happen 15 feet away and the people are missing like a cartoon"

"Agreed the gun fights are pretty bad. Endless ammunition and everyone has the worst aim ever. Last weeks episode was literally 50% of two groups just shooting at each other"

Catering to LOST fans....TWD is literally doing what pissed of LOST fans.    They clearly tell their story and it is obvious to the viewer the writers have no end game as they tell it.

They really should have had more walkers in Shiva's death scene. They are making all of these potentially great scenes so very underwhelming.

Agreed. Shiva's death in the comics was epic and heroic. That gigantic beast could have mauled that handful of walkers. Just felt cheap.

I agree about Khary Payton, but this was just another blah episode for all I care.

Guns still have no recoil nor do they eject spent casings. Carol somehow gets into the ceiling with nobody noticing. Rick drives a magic, bullet proof Jeep that I swear I saw a ricochet flare on the windshield of. Rick and Daryl's scenes just reek of bad 80's and 90's action TV and movies now.

    • I think a lot of wrs are going to go in the second round before we pick.  There are a lot of wr needy teams.  I think there will be a big run on them in the late 30s and 40s.
    • Interesting that they met with Walker three times and Cam Jackson twice.
