I think I'm done with the show, finally...

It is just dumb. The whole point of TWD was basically that it was/is Rick and Carl's story. Everyone else is supporting cast. To kill off Carl, who is basically Rick's motivation from beginning to end, is just so dumb I can't even begin to go into it anymore. Gimple is terrible.

The only thing that would save the show, and the comic if they go this road in the future, would be if they just end up making Negan the main character.

I feel the same way...Honestly, I haven't even watched the last episode, but I know what happens to Carl. Why the fug would you kill off a character that is so huge to the story. I LOVE the comics but this is just too much of a veer away from the entire story line. At this point, I don't know if I'm going to keep watching. Stupid move on Gimple's part. IMO, I think there are a lot of fans that feel the same way that we do and they've just lost a good amount of people.

I haven't watched since about the third episode of this season, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is just another lame stunt by Gimple and Co. and Carl ends up living somehow.

I know the actor's dad has been all butt hurt about his son being "fired", but I still wouldn't be surprised if it's all just dumb bullshit.

So disappointing to see this show fall off a cliff and become basically some low budget extended SyFy original movie.

They can't have him bitten by a zombie in the gut and survive.   If they pull some Carl is the cure move I.....well, I won't give a fug because I'm done. 

Dang.  HBO should of done TWD.  would have been less lame.

The podcast I listen to said Gabriel is sick but not dead and the doctor is with him.  Watch him be immune and the doctor create something with Gabriel's blood to save Carl.  Really stupid idea, which is exactly why it is a good bet.

I just finally remembered to read it yesterday. I'm not sure I'm trusting the Commonwealth at this point, and I'm not sure what to think about the Michonne twist.

Overall, though, I think this could be a fresh new arc that could draw me back in.

I'm speechless.


I've defended this show both here and elsewhere. Are there still redeeming qualities of this show? Yes. Can the show, on the whole, be redeemed? Not with current leadership in place. 

The first 2 seasons were great to me because it was shot PERFECTLY for the atmosphere it was going for. Visceral, real, chaotic. Perfect. Season 3 starts seeing a shift from this shooting style to a more "stock" television show. It looked like it was shot on a set the entire time because it was. There were great moments and great shots and it was cool overall, but less so than the first two.

Then season 4 and 5 slowly chop deeper into feeling more like a television show. The action started looking more and more hokey. The dialogue fell off tremendously. The editing and overall production just became overall poor.

Season 6 and 7 had many high points, but it got harder and harder to stick with it. More bad editing, more lackluster episodes, more poor dialogue. The ONLY truly remarkable thing being Negan in that timespan.

Season 8 has been all over the place. I have simply lost interest. Killing Carl was the final straw for me.

This episode in particular, JESUS it was rough. The edits just....wow. You can't buy the emotion of the scene because of the "flash forwards" which turn out to be Carl dreams. That's supposed to be the thing that jerks you a bit at the end. Then you get reminded of Negan still being out there and how Carl dreams of his redemption and acceptance into the group, but it was just bad. Bad bad bad.

This show is dying if it isn't dead already.
