Why does the panthers seem to always have this trend?

Many seasons we would either have a great offense and terrible defense and or great defense and terrible offense.. only very rarely we ever have a season where both or all 3 units perform at a top level.. it drives me fugging insane! I would say it's one of the main reason why this organization cannot achieve a back to back winning season.

JR is not the reason.  Unpredictability is the reason.  There are so many variables in football there is literally no way to predict what will happen during the season.  So many couch gm's on here.  If it were easy the entire NFL would be good.  All any NFL team can do is try to plan and prepare for the unexpected.  Thats the issue I think is plaguing Carolina.   Rivera has grown as a coach but he just doesn't possess the experience or knowledge to properly prepare this team.  The coaching staff seems to just be flying by the seat of the pants every week where as some coaches have game planned for each game months before the season starts.

Yea I agree.

The talent/skill level is so dam close in the NFL.  When they say it’s a ”game of inches”,  that’s literal. A game time speech can make a difference in the outcome of the game, as weird as that sounds.

I’ve been ride or die with Rivera but at this point, I’m starting to get the vibe Rivera’s philosophy is a bit antiquated.

To your point, I don’t feel as if we are properly prepared as a team . I’m not sure he’s “flying by the seat of his pants” as much as he has the philosophy of “impose our will”.

Thats great when it works...but it’s a little old school and stubborn. You have to have the mindset, culture and ability to adjust if “imposing you’re game plan” isn’t working.

Thats what he’s desperately missing IMHO.
